I would say WFA or Strikeforce. KOTC and WEC are more like feeder leagues for the UFC. They don't pay top fighters enough to be serious contenders. I don't know about IFL, haven't seen it yet to make an opinion about it. I really don't care for the team aspect or the rules. We'll see though. ROTR won't be big here unless they start doing more PPVs and have some shows on the mainland. I think the last ROTR PPV they had was when BJ Penn fought Rodrigo Gracie, can't remember which # it was. It wasn't a very impressive show at all, the editing was horrible.

I forgot to mention PRIDE, but I still think people will be shocked to see how PRIDE business does in the U.S. market compared to UFC. Most have PRIDE over UFC internationally as the superior fight organization, but when it comes down to the numbers - BUSINESS, *in the U.S.* PRIDE isn't going to be on a level playing field with UFC, not even close. That's my expectation at least. Just a matter of if they do good enough to turn a profit, because if they don't we won't see them try and "take over the American market" or "become a threat to UFC in competition" like they've claimed their goals are in the near future.
Shows like Strikeforce did so well because they marketed to their region. The card was stacked with Cali-based fighters and of course the main-event that appealed to anyone who has heard of the sport due to the last names alone.
WFA should give us an idea of what a very good card from a relatively unknown organization can do with heavy promotion and a lot of money behind it, and not just catering to one local market, but also trying to succeed on pay-per view. Should be interesting.

It will definitely be interesting to see how Pride goes about promoting things in the US. They already have the FSN outlet, but I don't think they have picked up many fans that way because it's so highly edited and Glazer and Trigg arent the best salesmen. I had a buddy at my gym that is strictly UFC guy and was telling me that Pride was crap and this and that, mostly because he had only seen the FSN show. I then showed him some of the DVDs I have. and now he is hooked.
Anyway, I don't really know how they are gonna get their rules passed and 10 minute 1st rounds in the US. From what I hear they said they won't change there rules, so I am very interested to see how things play out

FSN show is cool and all to be on TV here in America, but when that's all UFC had what 4 times a year, it didn't really do anything to boom UFC BUSINESS. PRIDE needs a Spike TV of their own in America before they can compete with UFC on a BUSINESS level. They'll still put on cards that rocks the body that rocks the party, but when they crunch the numbers they'll realize they're not even second fiddle to the UFC in terms of successful MMA organizations in America.

lol@"rocks the body that rocks the party" funny shit bro, almost made me spit my water out. I agree though, it's tough to go up against an organization that is already established. Just like it would be tough for UFC to go back over to Japan and try to go heads up with K-1 or Pride. It will be interesting to see though.

Yeah, UFC would never set out to take over the Japanese MMA industry though like PRIDE claims they are going to do in the U.S. If anything UFC would go over and do a show, do decent business, and come back never to be seen in their country again for another few years most likely. PRIDE has all these intentions and expectations, according to what they say publicly, to dethrone UFC in America and take over as the dominate MMA organization in the states. Not gonna happen, nor will they even come close.

Im gona go with WFA and Strikeforce. Strikeforce needs to get on PPV, cuz of that reason WFA is already ahead of Strikeforce. The weird thing about WFA is that the California State Commision, doesnt even have them listed yet for their first fight.

That's just a legalty. WFA wouldn't be pumping this much money into it if they hadn't at least verbally agreed to all conditions necessary to go forward with the event.
