The earliest Tito would even get a title shot is Super Bowl weekend in February. So he won't have the belt back by years end either way.

OK I know you don't like Tito, but to say he was spoon fed fighters in the UFC is a bit harsh.

UFC wins:

Jerry Bohlander
Guy Mezger
Wanderlie Silva (Title fight)
Yuki Kondo (Title fight)
Evan Tanner (Title fight)
Elvis Sinosic (Title fight)
Vladimir Matyushenko (Title fight)
Ken Shamrock. (Title fight)

Ok he lost to Couture & Liddle, but the "weakest" fighter on the list, Sinocic, only got the chance cos he got the shock win over Jeremy Horn in a final eliminator.

Oh & I think Guy Mezger suffered a stroke a few years back, which is why he's out the game.

Wasn't Tito gauranteed a title shot in his 3rd fight, part of his 3 fight deal....as long as he won the first 2???

Even if Tito didn't have it put in his contract, he will have earned a title shot if he beats Shamrock. That would be 4 straight wins in UFC for Tito. Which is better then everyone else in LHW division other then Liddell.

Tito will get a title shot assuming Chuck still has the belt after UFC 62 -- which I'm starting to wonder about after seeing Babalu's record. I don't think Tito would get past round 1 with either of those guys. He'll beat Ken "the world's most delusional man" Shamrock, get whooped in a title shot come February, and then be off to the WFA, where he can annoy a whole new group of MMA fans.

I hate Tito Ortiz, but he is the best in the world at his weight class once he gets his opponet down on the mat. Relentless Punishment!
i agree that lidell is overrated and i think tito would have beat him the first time but it was like he had to accept chucks challenge and "stand in the middle of the ring and strike with me", cause if he got chuck "THE SNOWMAN< NO GROUND GAME" down he would have pounded his ass. thats what makes lidell smart though he knew he could only win on his feet and so he dropped the gauntlet and tito bought it, and then tito really bought it! as far as losing to shamrock i dont think so but as much as i cant stand the guy hes no punk and he has fought the best and has huge heart probably too much for his own good! anything can happen but i see tito taking him out relatively quick.

I think that the UFC will have to give Tito a title shot soon after this fight. Of course, all of the hardcore MMA fans know who Tito is and pretty much what he's done in the UFC and elsewhere, but the UFC has to capitalize on Tito's newfound marketability. All of the TUF-lovers who just figured out who Tito is this last season are gonna start buying the PPV waiting to see him. I think they would at least have to announce a BIG ucoming fight to keep the money rolling in....at least that's what I think.

Just imagine what's gonna happen when some of these folks order their first PPV event, probably tonight, they're gonna be hooked.....that is if they can afford it, anyway.
