Does anyone know anything about this guy? I saw some pictures from his fight and he just looks like a fuckin monster. Is he a possible contender for the title if he wins a few fights or a mid-carder?

I haven't seen him fight yet, but he has a decent record. I'd say at this point any HW in UFC that can string a few impressive wins together is a contender. Look at Monson, he was a dark match last night and is probably the #1 contender for the UFC title right now.

yeah, monson is the #1 contender, assuming they dont get a pride guy to fight sylvia before that. after monson and vera though, i don't think there's anyone else to fight for the belt so they desperately need some heavyweights. maybe some crocop or fedor action? eh?

they'll probably give Mir another weak opponent and set up a title match up for him after Monson fights for the title.
