I know that the UFC could pay Wandi what he makes with Pride but would they was the question I was hanging out there. Rumor has it that Zuffa is a bunch of tight asses when it comes to paying their fighters. I can hear Dana saying "What? You want how much? You should be honored to fight in the UFC!" I am a huge UFC fan but when I saw the numbers paid out to the fighters at UFC 59 I was shocked. They paid out like $430,000 in show purses with a live gate a little over 3 million. Also in my earlier post I'm sorry to say that you were all wrong I just misunderstood the earlier discussions.

Are you serious that Hunt, Nog, Cro Cop, Fedor, Barnett, Werdum, etc couldn't hang with Arlovski and Sylvia??? lol that's the funniest shit I read all day. You're aware Arlovski is only 9-5 with 4 losses by KO/TKO right? You honestly think he can hang in stand up with 2 K-1 kickboxers like Cro Cop and Hunt?
Chuck is almost unstoppable in UFC. But when you put him up against Wanderlei, Shogun, Lil Nog, Arona, etc we'll see how unstoppable he is.

Isn't Chuck a kickboxer? I thought he used to fight in K-1. Correct me if I'm wrong(which I might be). I do know that he has some of the best takedown defense I think I've ever seen.

Yeah Chuck was a kickboxer also. He won 2 heavyweight titles in USMPA, WKA, and had 2 national kickboxing titles. He was 20-2 in kickboxing, with 16 KOs.
Chuck is a great fighter and up there with p4p the best in the world.
My main point was the Pride's HW and LHW division are deeper and better. UFC's heavyweight division is NOWHERE near Pride's. LHW they are a little closer, but again they aren't as deep as Pride with top fighters at that division. Besides Chuck, Tito, and Babalu, you just got a handful of TUF guys at 205 and that's about it.

Maybe that's what Dana should do for Pride then.
Send AA to Pride to fight Crocop or Hunt.
By the way if the Silva/Liddle fight comes off it'll be interesting to see how Silva copes without the kicks & stomps............................................ .................................................. .................................................. .......................sorry, I need to stop, I'm getting too excited again!

I'm more interested to see Wand's elbows. Using soccer kicks and stomps would imply he got Chuck to the ground, which would be bad for Chuck either way.

Gracie got 400,000 and Hughes only got 55,000. Lister only got 5k versus being paid 40k in Pride. The UFC wont pay for the great fighters so they cling to the few they still have...which arent that many. On a side note, and more related to this thread:
"The stipulations are that if Liddell beats Babalu at UFC 62 without any injuries and if Wanderlei emerges from the PRIDE openweight grand prix without any injuries, then these two champions will fight at the UFC in November". http://www.pridefc.com/pride2005/ind...ws&news_id=767 |
