The World Champion of last year's PRIDE GRAND PRIX, Mauricio 'Shogun' is ready to fight again! After suffering a serious injury in February against the Mark Coleman, the fighter submitted to surgery on his elbow.

The expectations are tobe fighting as soon possible, and there are strong rumors on the internet indicating the potential for 'Shogun' to participate in a Super Fight during the finals of PRIDE GRAND PRIX OPEN WEIGHT on September 10th in Japan.

The athlete is also very motivated too to participate in the first event for PRIDE outside Japan - in Las Vegas in October, where everyone wants to see the rematch against Mark Coleman.

that's great news. He sure made a quick recovery from such a bad injury. Just hope he doesn't try and rush it too much. It would be sweet if he's on that Pride USA card.

Well we all know that Coleman cant fight in the US because of a lil thing they call roids. Shogun shouldnt take that fight in Japan.

They only test guys in title fights, and the random fighter here and there.

They dont test in Japan, but they do test in US thats why Baroni and Tim got in trouble for it.

I may be wrong, but I don't think Baroni has ever tested positive for roids.

Im almost positive that he did because he had a lay off like 3 years back in the UFC and when he came back he lost after he got suspended for roids.

oops read what you said wrong. You may be right, I just don't remember Baroni ever testing positive.

yumitree 07-12-2006 05:27 PM

i'm pretty sure he did. i think the (mmaweekly?) article about pride's testing for the lv event mentioned baroni because fighters who have previously tested positive are looked at more closely when they come back from suspension.
