I think Herb did the right thing by stopping it when he did and all the damn booing was seriously disrespectful.
When you have an old washed-up guy like shamrock whose face and skull are damaged goods and have been pounded to pulp way too many times before...being dominated and clobbered repeatedly by a guy like Tito that has the capability, the power and skills, and enough raw hatred in him to really hurt his opponent...you play it safe and protect the old guy.
And I just don't understand why everyone is so obsessed with just those last six elbows.
After all, Tito had hit him with some hard knees in the clinch, then hit him a few times, slammed him down hard to the mat, mounted him, hit him a few more times, then drug him to the fence, hit him some more, and THEN let loose with a barrage of elbows to ken's face and skull while ken just laid there defenseless.
All ken did was rush right out to get dominated and beat the hell up....and was not defending anything Tito was dishing out to him much at all.
Did anyone actually watch the fight and count the total amount of times Tito's punches, strikes, knees, AND elbows connected?
Ken was getting completely owned for the whole time the fight was going on....right after he pathetically tried to charge Tito.
Herb knew that Tito was totally dominating ken and when ken did not "keep his hands up and protect himself at all times"...he did the only safe and decent thing and stopped it.
If this were 2 mid-carders...then no one would give a damn...FFS.
There was no conspiracy and no secret plot...just 3 men in an octagon all doing what they get paid to do.
Anyone that was enough of a newbie fan that believed that this was going to be a bloodbath or that someone was going to get beaten to a pulp under UFC and Nevada Athletic Commision rules...are just pissed because they were tools enough buy into all of the media hype and fill Zuffa's pockets a little more for something that was never going to happen in the first place.
But in the real world of professional MMA sports...that isn't what it is about at all....and that kind of brutality with out any regard for a fighter's safety thankfully just doesn't happen in the UFC any more.
The UFC isn't fake wrestling, a human cockfight, or an ancient roman gladiator spectacle...it's a mainstream civilized professional sport competition...with strict rules and licensed ref's whose job it is to protect a fighter from any serious injury.
Some people just need to get a clue...get over it...and move on.

Ken is trying to milk a third fight out of this. He knows he can't beat Tito, so if fight gets stopped and he acts as if he is not hurt, he can now badmouth Tito and the referee.

Ken Shamrock could easily make a whole new lucrative career out of renting his mouth out as a fertilizer spreader.
That's all he is good for anymore....spouting out BS.

There is ONE thing that everyone seems to be forgetting. Didn't Tito say a month or two before the fight that he was hurt? And Forrest was supposed to be fighting Ken? Then in the post fight interview he never mentions being hurt. In fact he claims he had no injuries whatsoever during training or anytime leading up to the fight. Just wondering about that. Doesn't that make all of yall wonder?

Doesn't that make all of yall wonder? | That is something that bothered me. Tito was going on that his ACL & ICL was bust before the Forrest fight which is why he wasn't as dominating as we'd thought he'd be.
Unless he's a superfast healer I didn't see any of that when he was bouncing around before the bell against Ken. I can't remember if he bounced before the Griffin fight, but if you've got a bust ACL, believe me you ain't bouncing!!
Maybe it was just his "headgames".

With the genuine hatred Tito has for Ken I'd think he'd take it with a broken arm.
IMO Tito only brought up the injury to make an excuse for the tight match with Forrest, but he thought that the Shamrock fight would be postponed until he was100%. When they gave the fight to Forrest, he was having none of it & as I said injured of not he was the one to send Shamrocks ass into retirement.
