Default Just how bad was the Lyoto Machida fight?

Didn't even catch it being mentioned on the Full Review or anything. Considering this match was promoted and all - What's the deal? . Was looking forward to seeing this fight, having caught that Countdown to UFC 70 preview and all. Rogan didn't mention it, and apperantly it was replaced with Kongo vs. Silva? I'm assuming that's what the UFC did, yea?

I haven't read a review of the fight, but considering it WAS hyped - And no mention was made, I'm guessing it must've been terrible. All I know is Lyoto won. Whoopdee doo.

the first 2 rounds of that fight were prob the most boring rounds ever, but at the end of the third lyoto got heath in the clinch and kneed him like 6 times to the head but couldnt finish him and that was it.
im sooo dissappointed in this card, most of the fights were boring and the last fight Crocop gets KTFO, its fucked up.

Was this fight even on the Spike show? I don't remember seeing it but maybe I was taking a bathroom break or something...

It didn't make it and that's why everyone is bitching about it.

Someone is going to ask Dana about it so we'll see what he comes up with.

They will probably show it on Spike sometime soon.

Wasn;t a terrible fight. Lyoto kept Heath at a distance for the first 2/3rds with some pretty decent kicks. Heath wasn't able to close the distance, but he did take the fight on short notice.

it wasn't horrible but it wasn't great either. i've never seen machida before and he displayed some very slick evasion and set up his strikes very smoothly. heath is one tough gun. he took some hard shots but never looked phased. machida could've brought the fight on more but looked content to get by with a decision - sort of like floyd mayweather/hit and don't get hit mentality.

im sure watching Heath/Machida would have been better then watching AA/Werdum...that fight was so incredibly boring it was sick! im actually glad Kongo/Silva was shown. the fight wasnt that bad, and i got to watching it at work so it helped the time go by LOL.

I didn't think it was that bad. Heath just couldn't hit Lyoto. I could see why they had Forrest as his original opponent, he would have been a lot more aggressive and pushed the action more then Heath did.
