| Cro Cop's face after his match..
Now, I am not trying to start some kind of rumor or anything at all. But to me, it looked like Cro Cop was thinking of being done with MMA for a moment. It scared the shit out of me. And then he was asked, what do you do from here, and he said, I don't know...
I think he was just upset, maybe realizing that training in a ring instead of cage was a stupid idea. Or maybe the fact that he was busy trying to end the fight in one shot.
I don't think he is going to retire (I don't know if he even can because of his contract). What do you guys think? Just upset, hanging the gloves, or maybe just can't wait to go back to PRIDE?

He looked demoralized and embarrassed to me.

But still, I wonder if his lukewarm comments to Joe were the result of a clouded mind from the KO, doubts about the near future of his fighting career, or just an inability to understand what Joe was asking (he asked him to repeat one question). | |

I think he was just shocked about what happened. He has a lot of pride and that knocked it out of him. He's been beaten before. He'll be back and probably annihilate the next guy he fights.

A BRUTAL KO like that would humble anyone, especially someone who was billed as the baddest man on the planet. And beaten at his own game nonetheless.

A loss like this has hurt his ego more than anything else. But he's lost before by a brutal KO and come back even better. Besides, didn't he say in an interview recently that he had a cage being brought into his camp to help him prepare for his UFC fights? He did say that.
One other thing, this fight wasn't a reflection of a Pride ring compared to a UFC cage in any way. CroCop was taken down and beaten up, and then he was KO'd on the feet from a standing still position. I don't see where the cage/ring factor fits in here.
The major factor here is that CroCop was timid, and was waiting and waiting and doing nothing, other than looking for 1 big kick. He has to bring alot more to his game than just that same old-same old strategy. He should've let his hands go, mixed up his attack.
And we don't know how far Gonzaga will get. Seeing how MMA is today with all the upsets, Gonzaga will probably get defeated again by somebody who's not supposed to really offer him much resistance. Werdum already did it by TKO.
You never know what might happen in MMA.

After a KO it's hard to think clearly for some time. I got knocked out and had conversations with people but had no clue of any of them. It took about 7 hours for me to rgain my senses.

Don't be surprised if CroCop gets the Wandy syndrome. Many boxers never recover froma devastating KO like the one CroCop suffered. He just may be suseptable to KOs now and a lot more tentitive about coming inside and banging.
He may start looking like Tim Sylvia and bot take chances anymore. Whatever the case, CroCop won't be the same.

I was very, very surprised they gave Cro Cop the mic. I'm not surprised that his answer(s) were so essentially empty of substance.
Hopefully, as an MMA fan, he does come back and with a vengeance. He's one of the most exciting fighters to watch fight....just like one bad loss doesn't expose Matt Hughes, GSP, Gomi, Franklin, it doesn't expose Cro Cop either.

You never know what might happen in MMA. | I agree, but this KO was even more brutal than the Randleman one. I don't think CroCop recovers and will never be the same.
