PRIDE OWGP semifinals confirmed!

PRIDE officially announced the semi-final brackets for their open weight grand prix tournament scheduled for August 10th at the Saitama Super Arena in Saitama, Japan.

It will be what many fans had hoped for, the long-awaited rematch between PRIDE Middleweight champion Vanderlei Silva and Heavyweight knockout artist Mirko CroCop, while the other pairing leaves what was once a dream match (UFC Heavyweight champion vs. PRIDE Heavyweight champion) Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira vs. Josh Barnett.

Of course the remainder of the tournament will all play out on the same night, with two of the above mentioned four fighters competing twice in the same night. Whoever wins the above two matches will square off the same night in the finals to determine the PRIDE open weight grand prix tournament champion.

There will obviously be a lot of non-tournament matches added, but we haven't caught wind of any of those yet. Stick with us for updated information on the PRIDE 9/10 show.

I'd like to see Silva and Big Nog in the finals. Cause we have seen Cro Cop Vs Everyon of these guys. Barnett has Fought Cro Cop two times already and lets be honest I don't see him getting by Big Nog. He's going to get tapped out. Last time Silva and Cro Cop met though it was a draw. I can only wonder if Silva is going to pull this one out. WAR SILVA.....
