Like i said Rich isnt over rated at 4-6 anything higher yes. Now to move up he has to beat quality fighters, Okami, Anderson so on. If he beats both of those guys he should be ranked in top 3. Well just beating Anderson would put him there.
I agree.

And if you think about it Anderson didn't get a lot of pub on the Internet from MMA fans until AFTER he beat Rich, so Rich did a lot to propel Silva to the top of the MMA internet Fan boy's top ten list

So when you think about that is Anderson Silva over rated? I mean Lutter almost had him, and would have if he had been in shape and not all in his own head about not making weight?

I think the world will find out about Anderson Silva when he fights Nate - Nate takes it with a dominant performance

I know what you mean, but I don't see it going 5 rounds, so something is going to happen at some point.

There's not one fighter in the world, except maybe Chuck , that I would advise to go and strike with Silva. I think Lutter showed the world the path to victory when fighting Silva

But back to Rich, his bread and butter in the MW division is his strength. He started as a LHW and moved down to this weight class. I think his only weakness is his inability to change his tactics in the middle of a fight. Sometimes you've got to abandon your game plan. It's a good problem to have, since as TUF has proven, most fighters aren't good at following through with a game plan.

Seriously? landing a couple shots that didn't matter is hardly "winning" the fight. I honestly think you should go back and watch the fight with a more objective eye. I like Rich, but he got owned, wire to wire. If you can't see that, you are dangerously close to the nut-hugging zone, in my opinion.

Rich is a BJJ brownbelt, but Silva is a BJJ blackbelt, and is more well rounded than Franklin. As far as Silva having "terrible take down defense" do you know many BJJ BB's that don't WANT a fight to go to the ground? The fact is, he's comfortable standing or on the ground. He's successfully rolled with guys with better ground games than Franklin, and still come out on top. He submitted a bloated Lutter with two bad knees, for chrissakes.

While I think there are guys with Silva's number, I just don't see Franklin currently among that number. Everybody talks about a "different game plan," but nobody can articulate what it's going to be. Certainly, a fighter can have an off night, but I don't see a different result in the future, regardless.

Exactly. Couldn't have said it better...and Dork, I think Da'Great was saying neither Salaverry nor Swick could beat Franklin, that Marquart has a chance, but neither of them do. there was a typo there, I think.

Ok well since I never said he had a better ground game than Silva I dont know what you would bring that up for. All I was statin was that Rich is more than just a striker like you make him out to be. i didnt say winning the fight either I said he was not dominated Wire to Wire despite what you may say. Its True Silvas a black belt but if you think he will be comfortable with a much bigger Franklin on top thrownig bombs than your crazy IMO if Lutter wasnt so Drained he would have stopped him and if Rich gets on top he will stop him.Its funny how Andersons Knee injury's can be used as excuses as to why his takedown D was garbage but if I were to bring up Rich's injurys going into the Silva fight I would never hear the end of it. Basicailly we gotta agree to disagree and if they do end up having a rematch we can bet whatever you want on it (SIg/AV)

Winning the standup/winning the fight...sorry to misquote you. I felt Silva took the shots to get where he wanted to be, and thus was still dominant.

I like Franklin. I still think he should have taken the facial reconstruction downtime to get the surgery on his achilles that he's needed since the Shamrock fight, so I'm not sure who would have given you nonsense about a fighter going into a fight with an injury...but it wouldn't have been me.

I honestly want Franklin to do well, he's a strong fighter with great perspective, he's not an asshole, and he's not using drugs. His fights are exciting, and he's a gracious winner or loser. He's a class act.

My point about takedowns is you pointed out Silva's "horrible" takedown D as a weak point...I was pointing out that not many BJJ BB's have great takedown D, they WANT the fight to go to the ground.

As far as a bet, I don't use AV's or Sigs, but when and if the fight gets inked, we can talk. I think it would be funny if my first Av was done by someone else.
