Franklin is not one of my favorite fighters so ive never really given him much thought. Since he is fighting soon and has been dicussed more as of late it got me thinking. Who has Rich fought? Tanner? I started looking at his fights and i gotta say it Rich is overated plain and simple..imo. He has beaten no one.

Well based on who he has won against combined with how and who he has lost to, I think he is overrated.

I mean people think he can beat a guy of the caliber of Dan Henderson...no way has he ever proved that.

What do you mean he has beaten anyone? He beat Evan Tanner TWICE ... which is no small task! He knocked out Nate Quarry who was a legit fighter with great stand up. He beat Ken Shamrock which is not any easy task. He ripped Jason MacDonald apart who was actually suppose to give Rich some trouble. He is not overated by any means. He had a crappy night when facing Silva and everyone saw it. Not the same Franklin. He is going to face Silva again and this time things are going to be different. This kid ... Franklin .... overated? You are crazy

You mean he had a crappy night the 2 times he fought a young world caliber fighter? And he got KO'd in both, because of crappy nights?

Old Tanner and Shamrock are not in the same league as Silva and Lyoto.

Yes, unfortunately for his fans he is indeed overrated.

Reason's being - In his 23 professional fights his most impressive wins have been over Evan Tanner and David Loiseau, neither of which are A level fighters. He has faced 2 world class fighters and was KOed in both of those fights (Anderson and Machida, those that deny Machida is world class will continue to hate all the way to his title shot and title) and was completely decimated in both of those fights, doing next to nothing in either.

That makes him overrated because this is the guy Dana White was calling "the best MW on the planet" and nearly every MMA website had him ranked #1 over Hendo so obviously most people bought into the hype.

To be ranked #1 and called the best MW on the planet while Franklin's biggest wins to date have come against Tanner and The Crow and when facing 2 world class fighter (when Franklin himself was supposed to be world class as well) he got completely destroyed there is no other way to call it, He's overrated.

Rich is overrated due to the fact Dana hypes him up ALOT. But he's a very good fighter. Beating Tanner 2 times and killing everyone else he fought shows you something. He's top Five. But just becasue he's overated doesnt mean shit. He can beat Anderson evan thou i will favor Anderson.

I think hes # 4 or 5 in the world right where he should be. Hes deffintly top 5 and anyone who doesnt think so is just a hater. Dana said he was the best MW in the world he didnt say it about himself so to throw that in there as a reason is just stupid. I cant wait for the rematch with Silva so then everyone will stop with this overrated shit
