My point is his transition game is what helps him beat these guys. When was the last time a BJJ champion was sub'd by a guy with knockout power? Scherner was supposed to be a dangerous striker and got flattened with knee. He can compete on the ground or on his feet and move from one to the other while these other guys try to figure out what to do next, they get lost in the transition and he's made them pay.
