| Why AA lost at ufc 61
in an article from ufc.com, it said that andri sustained a knee injury in the second round, but he didnt tell his corner because he didnt want the fight to be stopped. that would explain why he didnt have much power in his punches and y he didnt take the fight to the ground. in the interview aa clearly stated that they had planed for the fight to go to the ground. any thoughs on aa vs. silvia 3 at 61?

yeah this has been mentioned before.I don't think it would've mattered b/c IMO Sylvia was winning the fight before this happened anyways.

well Arlovski's knee injury definitely factored into the lack of leg kicks. he was hurting Sylvia, if you noticed, he rolled his knee wraps up in the 3rd, but Arlovski just couldnt throw them anymore.
plus, Arlovski's skill in Sambo would have given him a huge edge on the ground, but he couldn't shoot in, or take the fight down unless Tim wanted it, and he sure as hell didn't want the fight on the ground.

I strongly feel that without the early injury to his knee, eventually AA would have got the fight to the ground and would have been victorious over Tim...but that's just my opinion based on Tim's abilities and his past matches....together with AA abilities and his past matches.
But we will never know unless they have a re-match...which doesn't look to be happening anytime soon.
It's clearly a tough break for AA...and a fortunate one for Tim too.

exactly, if the fight hit the ground aa woulda made him tap, and if his knee was 100% he had a good chance of ko'in silvia, him and silvia are close on the feet, but on the ground their is no comparison. i would like to see mir break tim's arm again or something like that, of course that is consitering that mir will make the weight, if you look back at his recient fights, he keeps gaining weight fight to fight and is at 262.5 pounds now and it wont be long before he hits 270. he should try and lose like 30 pounds and then he'd be good.
