In your opinion who is the # 1 contender for Rich Franklin's title?

I would say Marquardt deserves the next shot, but his biggest challenge will be Anderson Silva.

I honestly think no one rite now should get it. Have to be between Silva Crow Nate and Terrell. winner out of those gets Rich. In the mean time Rich can beat down TUF fighters . Swick, Leben etc.........................

The Middleweight division being really cluttered right now. Anderson Silva has only had one fight in the octagon so I wouldn’t say he deserves a title shot until he beats someone of substance (Horn, Marquardt, Louiseau, Tanner, or Terrell). I'd throw Swick at him and have the upper echelon guys fight each other. Whoever is the most impressive should be the #1 contender.
Swick v Franklin would be fun anyway, those two guys who can really throw.

Matt Lindland! Unfortunately the 10th Degree Black belt in LayNPray is the true deserving fighter for a shot at the title. I hate to say it too..
Other than that, Nate Marquadt if he wins 1 more fight, other than that I'd have to say the other guysneed to win atleast 2 more fights.

i feel after all this talk about swick, his next fight will determine what is gonna happen . mixed feeling will always be a big part of it, but swick has been kickin ass so far,( yea, maybe not any big names) but, if he finished his next fight like the previous ones than i think he has proven hisself for a title match. for the ones that say he doesnt have a chance at 63, if he was to win (im a huge swick fan, but i still have my doubts) how would that change your opion of him? would that change your mind? just courious for conversation sake.

I think Marquadt should fight Terrell, and then the winner should take on Franklin. The loser (of Marquadt / Terrell), should fight A. Silva and than that winner could get the subsequent title shot.

Silva. He's only had one UFC fight but who cares. There's no point in making him ump through a hoop to get the shot. He's gonna get it anyway might as well give it to him now. Everyone else can fight for the title shot after that.
