KimurasRUs is correct. And the comparison of Fedor-TK I to Edwards-Stevenson is hardly legitimate. And I never said he was undefeated, I just said technically he should be considered so. The fight ending was pathetic, and he demolished TK in a rematch to erase that blemish anyway.

Side note: I am not a big fan of thinking cuts are not wins. to me that is like saying Subs are not wins because he cant move or the a KO is an accident because if he kept fighting he would of won by points. A cut is a loss plain and simple. Its one of the reasons I like Elbows and knees its a great way to end a fight fast just like KO's are.

Here lets just put it this way. If a fighter doesn't have a lot of skill but he KO's everyone quick that is ok. If someone isn't great at subs and does some laying on the opponent with some strikes that is ok . But its not ok to swipe an elbow across someones face open him up and win that way I don't get it.

I agree that cuts are legitimate wins, but there's different kinds of cut stoppages.

I agree with you 100%, cuts are a great way to win, and droppin 'bows is a hell of an attack... The difference with the Fedor fight is that in the federation whose rules the fight was taking place under, elbows were illegal without elbow pads. Fedor's opponent did not wear pads and opened up his cut using an elbow strike... That's the difference. I do agree with what you say do a cut is a completely legit way to win a fight, just not in this context.

Yeah...I have had my fill of other forums for other subjects where you are insulted for asking a newb question. I admit I am only recently getting in to the MMA thing and have only seen something other than UFC in the last 6 months.

Pride caught my attention because of the documentary Smashing Machine.

Thanks for the info and cuts are legitimate losses in my book. Cuts from elbow hits when the rules say you need to wear elbow pads are not losses. That a win by DQ.

Smashing Machine is a great way to be introduced to the sport. An awesome documentary. The sport is a LOT different now than it is portrayed on that film though. The sport has changed leaps and bounds even recently, and don't mistakingly think every fighter is a drug addict or something lol.

that documentary is brutal.Kerr sticking his thumb in his opponents cuts and smashing his knee in there faces repeatedly.Great documentary-a must watch.
