Yeah, in BJJ the refs will call fights if they think the submission attempt is getting too dangerous... it's different with the gi since your other arm can get caught up in your gi. You can't really blame the guy attempting th submission, but unless you are fighting a World Championship it's a dick move to push a sub to the point of break a limb unless it's on accident. This could have been avoided by all parties.
