Wand. No way does Randy walk him down with no regard for his punches like he did Tito. The pressure and the BJJ would give him fits. However, it would be interesting to discuss the venue..........CAGE=Advantage Randy.

Couture, and probably in the first round.. but let me explain..


Randy does a good job at going against Strikers for the first time.. he has a GOOD game plan, look at how he took care of Liddell, Belfort, and Sylvia. I think Randy would beat Wanderlei, and for these same reasons, would probably give Cro Cop a lot of trouble.. Difference between Cro Cop and Wanderlei is that everyone of CC's strikes means something, Wanderlei is very wild.

Cro Cop had an almost flawless gameplan against Wanderlei and picked him apart until the vicious KO (Given, CC brought his A game that night and stylistically, CC is bad for Wanderlei because CC strikes straight whereas Wanderlei has huge hooks). Randy, who is more well-rounded and an equally smart fighter as Cro Cop (minus this recent fight that showed pure stupidity), will do the same, and win..

Bottom Line - Randy would outsmart him and win. In a rematch, Wanderlei would win.

Couture... Randy would take Wand to the mat with not much trouble and eventually win via GnP. Thats my take anyways. Not saying it would be as easy as that cause I think this would be a good fight but I'd go with Randy.

Im going with Wandy, just based on what he did to guys that shoulda been taking him down with ease.. yes Couture is a superior wrestler, but I dont think that makes a huge diff when Wandy has faced guys who are great wrestlers, who shoulda been able to do the same thing Couture has the ability to do IE: Fujita, who is a great wrestler, who outweighs Wandy by a ton, yet he was stuffed, and knocked out.. two things that should NOT of happen cuz there extremely uncommon in Fujita's case.

Sakuraba is another one, best catch wrestler in MMA history, he was stuffed 3 times and defeated 3 times

Ricardo Arona.. beat him the first time, the guy is not only a damn good wrestler, but a GREAT BJJ fighter.. lost the 2nd fight.

Quinton Jackson, he is a good wrestler but has great power, Wandy was able to get from underneath him, and score the TKO.. again rare for Quinton

Dan Henderson, better wrestler then Couture is, better fighter too.. lost the first fight to Wandy, Wandy almsot took him down in the 2nd fight too.

If were talking prime Wandy, and prime Couture at 205 (which pretty much negates what hes doing at HW right?) then Wandy wins cuz of his black belt in BJJ, Randy alwasy struggled with grapplers.. Wandy's BJJ is probably underrated. IMO, Couture is a Greco-Roman wrestler.. clinch-based takedowns.. I dont think he would want to get close to Wandy cuz then he risks getting knocked out by a great MT fighter.. IMO wandy wins this but I def can see where Couture can win, because Couture favors side control and its hard as hell to get sweeped when your in side control, if its in the Octagon he has the cage advantage as well.. but on the feet, in the clinch, and in terms of grappling I give Wandy the edges in all 3 and I give Couture the edge in wrestling, and gameplanning.. I think overall this matchup favors Wandy because of the clinch.

Nice breakdown Afro, i would also pick Wandy as i believe as good a gameplanner Randy is, it can mean absolutely nothing when you get in there against Wandy and hes throwing crazy wild combos and clinching and kneeing, if he gets taken down its not as if he one dimensional he can def handle himself on the ground against Couture, plus these days we seem to think Randy would have things easier than he actually would just because he plans a good fight, if Chuck can take him out, then why couldnt Wandy, i mean it is 205 prime, but it would be a great fight.

Real hard to say....but I would go Wand in the ring no question
and Randy in the cage no question
