machida likes to be chased..chuck wont do that...also machida doesnt have the power to really hurt chuck...
chuck would wait around while machida jumped around and tried to be elusive then chuck would land a bomb and sleep machida

its hard to say how i think he would fair against rampage, shogun, hendo and guys like that because I havent seen machida fight any top competition in lhw. I wish they would put him against a good fighter/damn good striker that would come after him and make him fight

Machida, and no offense to Smoog, is another chuck just a lot more elusive and faster with a much better ground game.. he gets hit a lot, not nearly as much as Chuck but enough but no signs of a bad chin yet.. difference being, Machida is finese, Chuck is a puncher.. style-wise Chuck wins but I wouldnt be suprised to see him get countered hard enough for the fight to go to the floor in which Machida would sub him if it ever got there.

I think Machida would hit Chuck with straights everytime Chuck threw a haymaker. Machida via decision/UFC crowd sets record for most minutes straight booing due to inactivity.
