great wrestling matchup. both might be able to avoid the others. if kos gets hughes down he wont be to bad, but if hughes gets on top, he might be able to finish with a stoppage or gnp. but kos could use his superior wrestling to keep it standing and outstrike hughe's arm punches.

right now, Koscheck for sure. Better in most aspects. i think Hughes has advantage in submissions.

It would be an awesome fight.
What's the deal now............Serra will fight Hughes at the end of the next TUF, and it will be a title fight (as it should be)? Then the winner between GSP/Koscheck will get the fight against the winner between Serra/Hughes?
So this fight might actually happen.
My predictions are that Hughes will beat Serra, and GSP will beat Koscheck. We'll then see GSP/Hughes III, and maybe Koscheck/Serra. They might throw in Diego somewhere in the mix if he wins his next fight.
And if they throw in Gomi too................what an awesome weight class!
However it plays out, there will be some great WW fights over the next little while. I look forward to them.

yes i agree that hughes only has the submission advantage.
that is a likely sceneario. its bs taht hughes gets to be on tuf again and then get a title shot and he will beat serra to set up gsp-hughes 3, gsp will win that fight for sure. then hughes will fight the rubbermatch with penn and lose, then he will fight kos and lose by tko since kos uses his superior wrestling to keep it standing until he gets the tko.

If so, when? After he takes the LW title?

Like one of the local MMA gym owners here said (when I interviewed him for something else), Matt Serra is an animal, and has been for a long time. He has an exceptional ground game, highly underrated striking, and he's stronger than anyone gives him credit for. Dude's built like a fire hydrant.
He can't purely outwrestle Hughes, but his jiu-jitsu could very well neutralize the ground game, and he can certainly outstrike Hughes.
Plus, take into account the mental aspect. I STILL think Matt is of the opinion that he can just walk through most of the division...he pretty much phoned in the Lytle fight. If he comes in against Serra like that, he's going to get murdered, mark my words.

Serra can win this one.
