| Thiago Alves vs Nick Diaz
call me biased becuase alves is one of my favorites, but I think that Nick Diaz has little chance to win this fight

Hironaka not close to Diaz's skill?
I have a big problem with that statement, seeing as Hironaka beat Diaz

And I would predict Alves over Diaz even before last night, if DeSouza couldn't take Alves down then I just don't think that Diaz has a prayer at doing it.

imo hironaka isnt int he same leauge as diaz...maybe in pure subbs hes close but nick is far superior in stand up and transitions then hironaka...
but imo diaz wouldnt have to take this fight to the floor...thialgo has good muay thai but nick has very pin point boxing with excellent defense...on the feet nick could do jsut fine...i mean shit nick koed robbie lawler and was blasting gomi ont he feet for a while too...and if it hit the floor imo diaz would subb alves...and diaz could get it to the floor...hironaka did but jsut couldnt hold it there...i think nick could...

Nick wasnt blasting Gomi until he gassed. his boxing is technically sound and very accurate, but his handspeed isnt that great, and his jab is kind of pawing.
Alves is really explosive, and i think as the better athlete, he has the edge over Nick despite being not as technically sound with his boxing or on the ground.

Nick has horrible take downs, imo he cant take Thiago down, and i think Thiago would hurt nick standing, an either tko him in the 3rd or win a ud

I think the win over Desouza was a little quick, I didnt see DeSouza after he dropped though so ill hold judgement but from the footage ive gotten.. it looked like he got rocked and the fight was immediately stopped.. but im admitting to not having a clear angle so dont chew me out if DeSouza was clearly out.
The win over Hironaka is a damn good win, Hironaka is similar to Nick Diaz and I dont see how Nick isnt even on his level.. hell Hironaka probably has better takedowns then Nick, Diaz is the man.. huge fan but Hironaka is a black belt, and deservingly so.
Still, I cant shake Alves loss to Spencer Fisher just yet.. whom has worse takedowns then Nick Diaz.. and far worse BJJ.. so until I see another good win, im going with Nick Diaz even though Alves has the right matchup to beat him.
