| Nick Diaz vs BJ Penn
Simply who takes it? I think that this is a freaking great matchup at 155. But really I have no idea who wins. It would be a war.

BJ Penn would technically dominate Nick Diaz
and Nick being a skinny, light motherfucker, never had much else to rely on in a fight but technical skills. and thus, BJ would stay away from all of his punches, throw more power, and handle him on the ground
Nick likely wouldn't get TKOd or anything, but BJ could submit him, and i dont see Nick getting anything on Penn on the ground

Penn is better at everything.
Penn can keep this fight standing if he wants or take it to the ground and can have his way there too.
I see this fight ending by tko. I know Nick has a good chin, but Penn would just beat on him standing until Nick couldn't take it anymore and he would just finally go down.
Nick is a decent striker with no power. Penn is a very good striker with good power an is very good at slipping punches.
Sherk out struck Nick, so i see no problem why Penn could not.
Also no way in hell Nick can take down Penn. Nick has horrible take downs and Penn has some of the sickest take down defense.
This is Penn's fight by anyway he wants.
This is a fight i give to Penn 10/10 because their isn't a knock out punch coming from Diaz he just does not have that kind of power. Those pidder pat shots will not put Penn down, and even less likely that Nick would sub penn.
Penn by total domination.

That's not even a fair fight Penn would destroy him.
just a little tid bit. did anyone else think mannny would have beat dias in TUF finale before the injury, i strongly believe he was controlling the fight.

i think diaz would put up a good fight and it would be interesting. but id definatly love to see this fight happen. i think it would be one of the best lw fights of all time. bj penn would probably win.
oh and im assuming ur talking about nick diaz, because nate diaz would get handled.
actually id prefer if it was at welterweight. diaz looked better at welterweight imo. and penn is probably going back to 170 .

Dork has summarized it really well - I just want to add another factor. BJ can make 155 much easier than Nick. Even if Nick could make it he would be so weak that fight wouldn't go to round 2.

Didn't Nick beat Gomi. I think you all are underestimating Diaz. Come on Nick wouldn't get submitted and his length would give Penn some trouble. If Diaz gets it into the later rounds BJ will gas and Diaz could beat him.

I think people are over estimating Diaz because of that Gomi win.

lol. Gomi gassed 3 minutes in after whooping on Nick, dropping it, and later shattered his orbital bone.
unless BJ did the same thing, and somehow developed amnesia so his grappling was at Gomi's level, then he will win easily.
Nick barely beat BJ's little brawler in Aina. how's he going to beat someone much more technical standing up with similar chin, better at wrestling and grappling, etc.

But if you remember only reason why BJ lost to Hughes and GSP is because he gassed and I don't think he will make that mistake again. And I don't think Gomi can be compared to Hughes or GSP.
