Not too early to tell, Tyson has some good counter rights and a lot of power.. hes also bigger then Mac, better on the ground, Mac is a very good fighter but Griffin would most likely just pound him out. Id be cheering for Mac to pick him apart on the feet, but more then likely it would be Mac underneath Tyson for 3 rounds.

but mac has shown good take down d and might be able to survive...

Interesting that everybody thinks 2 LW wrestlers could take Danzig down and pound him when a bigger stronger wrestler who needed to cuz he wasn't very well rounded couldn't.

Ok, I'll make it clearer. I don't think it's a given that Guida or Griffin could take him down. He defended TDs against a much bigger and stronger wrestler in Tommy Speer.
I don't think he'd necessarily win just think that he has underrated wrestling.
In fact as far as well-rounded in the LWs, I'd put him 3rd behind BJ and Huerta.
Now this does not mean I think he's the 3rd best. You can be successful without being well-rounded. Just ask Tito.

How is Speers that much bigger or stronger then Griffin? if at all? hell Griffin is the biggest LW not named Sherk right now, on top of that takedowns dont equal just wrestling.. what Tommy cannot do that Griffin can.. is mix his takedowns in with trips, and strikes. Plus, Griffin is jsut better at takedowns then Speers is.. last time I checked Speers wasnt this all-american college wrestler whos immediately going to make the ultimate transition from wrestling to MMA right off the bat.

I'll take your word about Griffin's credential's but I think you're buying into the hype as far as his MMA skills go. Bad decision against Guida. And I said I don't know about their wrestling but Speer was a big WW. Rogan (ya I know...bad source) said he looked about 190 when he fought Mac.

i agree 100 percent. griffin is a more experienced wrestler than tommy speers, he is equally strong if not stronger than speers, he trains at a world class camp (xtreme couture, where danzig is now doing some training) and he has the ability to go all three rounds if need be as seen in the Griffin/Guida fight. If it goes to decision griffin could pick up points for takedowns and is no slouch when it comes to striking Danzig may have shown good takedown defense against speers, griffin has raw strength and is a world class wrestler dont get me wrong, danzig i think would have a good showing with his experience but i think that griffin is a step above danzig. He has fought some challenging opponents while danzig has not fought any fighters at the level griffin has.
