if were talking about the Shogun that dominated in Pride, then this fight would definitley be a classic. Could go either way.

i can see this being very much like Lil Nog vs Shogun.

You know until someone proves that they can solve the puzzle that is Machida I don't see him losing. He seems to be able to take everyone out of their gameplan and makes them fight his fight. I guess we'll have to see but Machida looks like the new face of the LHW division by the end of 08.

I've always thought Machida would take Shogun ... long before either of them got to the ufc.

Shogun hands down.

I know there is a big Machida bandwagon right now....but it's freakin shogun. The man is a machine.

It would be fairly close, but I don't see Machida taking it.

we can base this fight on

Machida vs Nakamura

and

Shogun vs Nakamura

even though Nak was high on MJ (he could have been high during the Shogun fight, who knows) Machida's performance was perfect. Shogun on the other hand was getting outstruck but had great control of the fight.

Machida vs Shogun would be a classic fight for sure, but i really need to see Shogun get a dominating win under his belt before i can see him defeating Machida.

I've got to say Shogun. His aggressive style might just be what it takes to beat the ever elusive Machida... I'm about 51% sure on that...

This is a fight I'd be highly looking forward to for many many months if it was ever announced.
