| GSP vs. Shogun at 205lbs.
With the recent interview from GSP, wanting to win titles in three yes three weight division I thought the Shogun/GSP match will be very exciting. Any Opinions?

ShoGun by...Fuckin'...Spinning knee, hah. 205? GSP? I know he's talented, but...No self respecting MMA fan's actually going to take St. Pierre in this, are they?

I doubt GSP makes it out of the first minute.

Okay I am very surprised by the reaction that this match up is getting, when I first thought of this match up I saw both fights with incredible ability both have similar athletic abilities and this could really became a fight that has more of like if you ever saw a Martial Art Demo where they would use everything they had in their repertoire. This is a match up that is way more realistic then fights like Bisping/Fedor now come on. I'm just surprised.
Rua Mauricio 16-3-0 6' 1" (185 cm) 205 (93 kg)
St-Pierre Georges 15-2-0 5' 10" (178 cm) 170 (77 kg)
P4P Rankings

Sherdog GSP #4 - Shogun NR in Top 10 1/9/08
InsideFighting GSP #7 - Shogun NR in Top 10 updated 1/9/08
MMA Playground GSP #2 - Shogun #9 I Think Voted Periodically
Yahoo! GSP #2 - Shogun #10 updated 1/4/08
I'm not a GSP supporter because I don't think P4P he should be ranked like this because he lacks the mental game needed in mma but as far as "Dream Match Ups" I think this is more realistic and would be very interesting. I try to keep it realistic.

You can't be serious? You just said "Be realistic" and you're asking about GSP vs. Shogun Rua? A healthy Rua would run through 95% of the LHW division. That's a division that is many things, including probably the best talent in the world. Not to mention its competitors carry 35 more pounds of bulk at fight time. This isn't even a logical comparison.

GSP needs to shut his mouth. He won the title and then lost it on his first defense. That is a horrible showing by any account. The argument "he got caught by a luck shot" is retarded. He got beaten down by Serra who was intentionally throwing punches (of all things in an MMA fight!). Don't we have to assume that GSP was expecting some punches to be thrown at him? He shows his youth and lack of mental grounding again and again. His latest "I want to win every weight class" is just another example of his lack of maturity. He has the skills but his adolescent mentality just serves to underline how much work he still has, and very well may always have, ahead of him.
