with all this talk of sheilds vs gsp i started thinking the only person i see beating gsp in the near future is bj. i also would pick bj over sheilds.

Penn wins this.
Imo Penn has the better bjj, better striking, faster, also add his amazing tdd and he has very good judo, so Penn by UD.

Penn Wins.. hes better at BJJ, better at striking, such good takedown D that Shields wrestling wont really matter.. he'll take it by UD.
I think they both can beat GSP, not saying they will.. but can.. even though I think they will =)

I don't nessacarily think that BJ has better BJJ, but I think his knowledge and sub defense is at a high enough level that it will nuetralize Shields' best weapon.
Shields has pretty good striking defense, enough so that it would be difficult for BJ to overwhelm him on the feet, but still be effective.
Shields is as knowledgable on the ground as anyone, and would likely stay out of a bad position to get subbed
This fight would have alot of solid action, but I'd see Penn winning a UD in a 3 round contest. 5 rounds? Penn would proably split decision.

you think gsp beat bj pen??? if you watch the match, gsp got raped left and right. gsp couldn't do shit to bj pen, but the decision went to gsp, which i thought it was a rip off. ufc is a rip off, they put up the same fighters over and over which it gets boring. what happen to the rest who were doing well, it seems like they have been in the ufc just to make more matches interesting for ppv.
