They've already fought earlier in their careers, with Alves winning the fight. But they've both improved greatly since then, but I would say Alves still takes it.

davis has shown good boxing but alves would punish him with kicks over and over and probably end it with a knee or high kick like paul taylor almost did

Alves via Leg Lock

My gut goes with Davis... He's extremely comfortable throwing punches from the pocket and yeah... I think even vs someone as big as Alves, it'll only take one shot...
He might take some damage getting in there but I think Davis ends it via KO round II. I think he's smart enough not to clinch with Alves...

well since Thiago kicked him in the head a bunch of times last time they fought, i really doubt Marcus will be able to just get into the pocket and land a shot.

Marcus has come a long way... I see him learning from his early short comings, I like him in this match up...

it would be a great matchup, thats for sure.
but Thiago fought Marcus when he was barely 20 years old. hes had so much more experience and training now that I just cant help but think that Marcus would lose

Now, just cause I praise one fighter doesn't mean I diminish another... I've liked Alves from day one, he's exciting and explosive and I think whole heartedly he could beat Davis just as I think Davis could beat him...
but if they fought for right now I'm choosing Davis... I think he's just as dangerous as young Thiago and I love his attitude about the sport...
