GSP would take him down and control him at will... Alves is the current hype at 170...

take him down and lay on him maybe
i think Thiago can beat GSP by 09. by KO.
he just needs to get his wrestling and escape game up a little more, he easily got up when Karo took him down, and defended Karo inside the clinch. i already know he can outstrike GSP, and i doubt GSP can sub him.

This is a much closer fight then most figure. GSP has been KO'd before and Serra isn't the striker that Alves is. I still think that GSP will win but he could get caught and would that really surprise any of us?

matt serra might not be the striker that alves is, but he has way more power in his hands then alves does. alves is a good striker because of his kicks, his boxing is only slightly above average and i think its not much better or any better then gsps personally. alves was getting destroyed by chris lytle before the cut and i know he would have lost if the fight continued. people are giving alves WAY to much credit here. GSP would just take him down and destroy him worse then we've ever seen.
IMO alves would take the worst beating of his life.

It was a close fight no one was getting destroyed.
