| Yushin Okami vs Kendall Grove
Who wins: Yushin Okami (24-4) vs Kendall Grove (10-5).
Both are coming off wins vs former Middleweight Champ Evan Tanner. Yushin is in there somewhere at the bottom of the top 5 with Cote and Almeida. Grove is probably the next best MW at #7. This looks like it could be the next matchup for both since Silva is fighting Irvin at 205, Cote and Almeida are soon to fight and Hendo/Rich seem to be the next best fight at MW.

Okami is constantly improving. I see him giving Anderson a tougher fight than most believe.
i'll be cheering for Okami and i'm expecting an exciting fight.
as for Grove, Okami defeats him in the 3rd via KO of some kind.

Yushin Okami does not need a step down in competition. The only fight that is right for him is Silva. Grove is my fav MW next to Silva but he doesn't deserve this fight. He should be fighting someone like Jason Macdonald. The biggest the UFC could justify giving him after getting KTFO by Cote and Rivera is Bisping.

Okami Okami Okami...
Ok i'm just stating what I want... I really have no reason to dislike Kendall but for some reason I do... He looked very sharp vs Tanner, but so did Okami, and he was able to finish Tanner quickly from his clinch...
Ok ok, mma math bad...
Okami is physically stronger, Kendall would have the range advantage but I've yet to see him truly figure out how to utilize it. If it goes to the ground I think Kendall has ample submission defense, but I think if Okami imposes his ground and pound Kendall will break.
I can envision a scenario where Grove is able to out-point Okami, but he has to move in and out, utilize leg kicks and jabs to score. Kendall has very good quick body kicks, but I think he lacks a big of stopping power outside of the clinch. I don't think he wants to clinch with Okami either...
I would say Okami TKO's Grove in the third, because he's a fairly slow starter and Grove's height might take some adjusting to...

I have to agree with the majority here, I think that Okami would end up taking it in the second or third round.
What I think would be a better match up for the UFC right now is Lister vs Grove. They're both coming off wins and I don't think either is at the top of the MW ladder by any means.

Grove has 3 ways to win this fight.
Head Kick
Triangle
Armbar
Okami will have Da Spyder on his back or pinned against the cage, so head kick is out.
Okami is too powerful to get caught in an armbar from the bottom, so armbar is out
That leaves Kendall with one option, and if he's gonna try it, he'll eat tons of elbows in the process. With his chin, that won't last long.
Okami in a non-flashy, totally dominant performance by stoppage in the 2nd.

Ends badly for that Team Dagger backstabber, and great for the fans.

Okami already beat MacDonald....so, yeah Mac and Grove should be in the works. Lister/Grove wouldn't be bad...but Grove is higher on the chain than Lister. Maybe Grove/Palhares??? another thread
