Brandon Vera vs Anderson Silva, at 205.......

Who takes it?

it would be a great fight, anderson would win thought. brandon has great muay thai and standup but not better then anderson. before the irvin fight i was thinking of how irvin has good standup and usually loses because of his ground game. i thought it would be a pritty good standup fight. i knew anderson would win, but i thought it would take atleast two rounds. anderson seems to amaze me. i would love to see anderson vs. fedor.


what do you guys think about anderson vs. cro cop. they would both want it standing and they would both get to use their stiking against each other. cc isnt a lot taller then anderson but he is def quite a bit bigger. who wins? both great standup styles. i would have to say that anderson has a better chin, but i really cant say who is the better striker.

Sorry but I haven't seen anything from Vera since he's come back to make me pick him over Silva...he could possibly be the most overrated fighter in the UFC. I understand he has a pretty good skill set but ever since he said he was going to be champion in both weight classes I blew him off completely.

Silva has better stand up and a better ground game so I really have no idea where Vera would win this fight...

That's just an uneducated response. Vera's a bad ass greco roman guy. The guy trained with the olympic team a few years back..Are you going to say it's not possible for vera to do what Hendo did to silva in round 1, for 5 rounds?

Silva's hands and jits is too good for Vera. Triangle brings up good points about the wrestling but Hendo is a better wrestler and has a heavier right hand and he couldn't beat Silva so why could Vera? Silva vs. Cro Cop would be good. Silva would tool washed up UFC Cro Cop(sorry) but Cro Cop in his prime vs. Anderson would be one hell of a fight I'd see Anderson win because he's the more technical striker but wouldnt be surprised if Mirko lands that Head Kick.

hendo couldnt beat silva because he tried to stand with him. He took anderson down no problem in the first round. He tried to swing too much and wound up getting kneed to the dome and dropped in the 2nd round. he should have taken it to the ground off the bat.

Henderson is a better wrestler than Vera and got submitted by Anderson. Not only that, but...Well, sure Henderson won that first round but...It was useless, hah. He didn't do anything. Some short range punches to the side of Anderson's head that had no real power to them because of their range. Hendo putting his hand over Anderson's mouth - It was a really ineffective round.

Vera would have to avoid getting submitted, keep the ref from standing them up for his not doing shit on the ground, hope Anderson has a strategic brainfart, and - No, no, no. I won't go on, hah. You're wrong, sir.

Vera's too proud a fighter to lay and pray (which is what Henderson did for that first round, for the most part). And his opponent is too good a fighter to lose.
