| Babalu vs Shogun #2
Shogun is ranked above Babalu on every poll. Babalu won the first fight by submission in the 3rd after pretty much a draw in 1st and 2nd.
I think Babalu is heavily underrated because he is in the UFC and has lost to Chuck.
However, I still think Babalu > Shogun via better Wrestling and BJJ.
What do you think?

I think Babalu would be able to pull out another submission victory kind of like he did in their first fight. Shogun is an awesome fighter, but Babalu is highly underrated. Babalu did beat Trevor Prangley, Mauricio "Shogun" Rua and Jeremy Horn all in one night and was able to hang in there with Fedor even though he lost by unanimous descision.

i think Shogun.
Babalu is a sneaky motherfucker, and is technically sound. good leg kicks, good wrestling, and good BJJ. in a lot of ways, he reminds me of Arona.
but we saw what happened to Arona when he fought Shogun. Shogun has catapulted upwards in skill and experience, and while i like Babalu more, i would give this one to Shogun

I dunno really, I would go with Shogun by TKO he beat a better grappler in Arona, shouldnt have a problem at this stage in his game in beating Babalu.

I think Shogun was like 19 years old in his first fight with Babalu, it was very early in his career, he was not in the physical shape he is now and he was not training with Chute Box Acadamy. I think Shogun loses the vast majority of his Pride fights if he were to have fought those guys back when he fought Babalu.
Shogun has developped into a much more well rounded fighter than he was when he fought babalu and much more devistating.
So I would go with SHogun in the rematch, he handled Arona easily and Arona is a better grappler than Babalu as Afro said.

Actually Shogun was 21 years old and training with Chute Box at the time of the fight with Sobral. Rua was just as physically strong as he is now, though yes, he has improved greatly as a fighter.

I stand corrected however it was very early in his MMA career and physically he was in fact not as muscular (and ofcourse technically sound).

Very close. I'd say Babalu with the upset submission win.
