| Brock Lesnar vs. Josh Barnett
Okay, two of the top heavyweight fighters on the planet and both guys who have enormous egos and attitudes and both talk their shit and flaunt their stuff and really, two guys who have perpetual chips on their shoulders.
So, who ya got???

I like Barnett for the fact that he has better standup and on the ground he's always a threat with leg locks. There's no way on the planet that Brock has even close to the leg locks skills that Barnett has. Barnett has probably forgotten more leg locks, than Brock has learned.
The one thing Brock does have going for him in this fight though is his wrestling and the ability to keep the fight standing. If Brock were able to be somewhat patient, than he might be able to find an opening and capitalize. Barnett is aggressive and he sometimes leaves himself open, because of this. If Barnett got over anxious, than Brock might have a shot, but if I were a betting man, I definitely would put my money on Barnett.

I think that age and the wear and tear of a long MMA career would be a disadvantage for Barnett. No one can match Lesnar's mammoth strength and he is ever expanding his array of skills. His athletic ability isn't paralleled in the HW division right now so I think that Lesnar, while beatable, I don't think that Barnett can do it at this stage of his career. I am border line going to call Lesnar the GSP of the HW division. He is an amazing athlete who with proper motivation could be dominate for some time.

I'm giving Barnett the edge in the stand up and because of that I think he wins. But Brock is such a tremendous athlete and powerful striker that I don't if I would be surprised if his stand up has improved enough(Hard to be surprised by anything in MMA anymore) and with all of the fights Barnett has had that he could've slowed down enough for Brock to take it. I mean who would've thought Mir was going to out box Nog?
As great as Brock's strength in wrestling are. I think Barnett is big enough and strong enough to keep off his back. He is a very good wrestler himself. Lesnar couldn't keep Couture on his back and Randy would've put Brock on his had he not grabbed the fence. I don't wrestling alone is enough to beat Barnett. Whenever he did get him there he would be at risk of being subbed. We also haven't Lesnar really take a shot from someone with the power of Barnett.
Lesnar has a punchers chance against anyone. But I think this is a tough match up for him.

Brock Lesnar would try to keep it standing up and although Barnett has been known to be heavy handed, between conditioning and speed Lesnar would take a unanimous decision.

I shouldn't be surprised at the current status of the poll, but I am.
At this stage in their respective careers, Barnett beats lesnar, 7 times out of 10. Josh has better standup, a better ground game, and far, far better transitions.

Barnette would have a wrestling background and superior hands. Lesnar has no chance besides tell Barnette to lay down and get tko's which Barnette can get back up from
