First, brock was warned before the fight. Second, he was warned again, immediately after the first shot to the back of the head--there was a gif posted here on which you could hear it clearly. Third, he continued to flail wildly with more strikes to the back of Mir's head...at least three shots AFTER the warning. Anyone who keeps perpetuating the myth of a bad standup is risking getting negged by me every time this shit crops up. I'm not hating on lesnar. I don't think he'll make the same mistake by flailing wildly, he's shown more patience in subsequent fights, and he's 50/50 to take the rematch...
...but the first Mir fight was a good standup and people need to get the fuck over it.
Listen...if brock can do half the damage his fanboys think he can with his xxl fists, he has no business striking to the back of anyone's head. anyone dismissing the standup as some variation of "Mir's fault" is fooling themselves if they consider themselves a true fan of the sport. At no point should the safety of an individual fighter come to risk so that someone can win a single controversial fight.
lesnar has effectively started his long road to establish legitimacy. He has an opportunity to continue on that path with the rematch...but anyone who dismisses Mir's efforts--on both withstanding the repeated blows to the back of his head, and in keeping the presence of mind to perform the sub--as an error in judgement by the official is an indication that the person performing said oversight has no fucking clue whatsoever, and should probably be watching golf or tennis or some non-contact sport shit.

I must admit, I wasn't a fan of Lesnar during the first fight. I saw him as a WWE wrestler coming into the big leagues thinking he's ready for the big dogs. What I didn't know is his college wrestling past. I figured if he can actually wrestle, I'll give his next fight a chance. I watched him pretty much dominate Heath, still wish he actually finished it. The thing I hated was his cockiness. I blame it on the time in WWE but I hate cocky people, looking past it though, for now. Next up was him, going against my favorite fighter of all time. I had money on Couture. Now,I didn't even feel he deserved to fight Randy at the time, he still took that fight. Looking back on it, I have come to realize that Lesnar is, an will continue to be, a force to be reckoned with.
Blah, blah, blah. I picked Brock. I think Mir took advantage of the weakness all the wrestlers have coming into the MMA world. I don't see it happening again though.

I have to go with Mir. I think that Lesnar is going to try to stand with Mir and I really think that Mir has the speed and better stand up to deal with Lesnar's power. If it does go to the floor I will predict that Mir wins by RNC.

Brock Lesnar was patient in his last two fights against Herring and Couture, unlike in his UFC debut against Mir. And I expect him to be patient again in the rematch with Mir, which will lead Lesnar to victory, becoming the Undisputed UFC Heavyweight Champion. Frank Mir's only hope in this rematch, is for Brock Lesnar NOT to show up. That won't happen. And the only way Mir sub's Lesnar this time, by Lesnar making a rookie mistake. Again, that won't happen. Also, the ref giving Frank Mir a break this time, yes, that won't happen. Lesnar via 187.
Deal with it. Accept it. Know it. Wrestlers are taking over. Again. Automatic.
WAR LESNAR!

Something tells me that we're gonna see Brock slam and pound of Mir for a while, have Mir pull out a triangle choke and have Brock powerbomb Mir into dust. I really see this bout as Arona/Rampage II, with the identical result.

I see Lesnar cracking Mir on the feet and not going to the ground unless for a quick finish

That would be horrible.

rh | As much as I'm a Rampage mark, a huge mark no less, that statement is via rh is rather true. Arona had KO'd Rampage with an up-kick. A couple, actually. He was basically out cold on Arona, but recovered, and the ref, a Pride ref, missed it completely. Still, Rampage did his job, the ref didn't, just as the ref in the Lesnar/Mir I fight. That said, I don't see the rematch with that ending. Far from it. Reason I say that is, Mir won't be able to get his legs around Lesnars big ass head, neck, and body. His best point of attack is the legs. Hell, even Mir said he couldn't attack those parts that I've mentioned he couldn't. Yes, he said it first.

Please don't tell me that you're pretending the ref messed up in the first Mir/lesnar fight. I've made a vow to neg any/everyone who perpetuates that shit, and I'd rather not include you in the pogram.
lesnar was warned before the fight, he was warned during the fight, and he still dropped four or five flailing punches to the back of Mir's head.
It was a good standup.

Brock via ground and pound TKO, 2nd or 3rd round.
