| Brock vs Mir II
(Delete if duplicate)
I've been called dump, stupid, idiot, etc... for my opinion on this fight.
And I'm not backing down from it, until we see the results of UFC 98!
In my opinion: Brock will defeat Mir
Here's a few reasons why:
A. Brock got caught the first time (lesson learned?)
B. Brock is too big and strong for Mir
C. Brock only has to worry about being submitted from the bottom (1 dimensional Mir)
D. Brock is much quicker than Mir (footwork, boxing, ring control)
E. Brock has realized this is MMA, training in all aspects fighting.
F. IF you think Brock was winning the first fight (got caught), well I think this time around... he's sure to have improved (witnessed vs Randy).
Does Mir have the skills of a "kung fu master from chinese movies"? lol
I don't think so!
p.s. Unless Mir trains his ass off to gain speed, he's losing this one.

"Brock is too big and strong for Mir."--Right. Which kept him from getting submitted in their first fight. This statement by itself is absolutely inane; I don't think anyone doubts that Brock could bench more than Mir, or that his hands are bigger, but to list that as a PRINCIPAL factor in this fight is questionable. People said the same thing about Gonzaga and Sylvia when they fought Randy
"Brock only has to worry about being submitted from the bottom."--Lesnar is a wrestler; exactly where do you think Mir is going to be if this fight hits the ground. No way does Brock have any confidence in his own guard yet.
"Brock is much quicker than Mir (footwork, boxing)."--Did you see the Mir/Nog fight? Mir's striking has improved by leaps and bounds; while Brock's is solid, its not there yet.
Look, Lesnar can win this fight, I'm not disputing that. But anyone who writes off either of these fighters is severely shortsighted.

No one ever predicted Mir to knock out the toughest guy in the world either. NO one predicted Mire to break Sylvia's arm. Mir is not a waek guy by any means i think people over look how strong he is. Not compared to Lesnar but if Mir sinks his hips around Lesnar's arm he could break that to.
I predict Mir subs Lesnar again. I'll make a sig bet with anybody.

Brock has to worry about getting submitted by a ju jitsu black belt in general any which way not just on the ground.
We really haven't seen Brocks footwork, boxing/ ring control.
Remember he was kinda hesitant to stand with Couture because Couture has superb boxing skills. therefore we didn't see any improvement over just a one powerful punch that took down Texas Crazy Horse.

Brock would've had to spend an extreme amount of his training time in his stand up for it to be at a decent level. He's actually quite lucky that he's got "canned hams" for fists and that he can really on his power to make up for his suspect standup.

No Brock hating that I see....just calling it like we see it. I think there is more Mir underestimation that Brock hating. I mean Mir is the guy that won the first fight. Sure Brock has probably improved...so has Mir. I like both fighters and think it will be a great fight. I just see it ending the same way as the first one.

I have to disagree from the very beginning. Mir is the guy who got caught. Brock came out like tornado and surprised Mir who was able to gather himself and get the sub just like you'd expect. Mir is the experienced, trained and seasoned MMA top fighter, Brock is the raw guy with potential. When a guy who is above you in every aspect of MMA beats you you lost, you didn't get caught. Secondly, what makes you think Mir didn't take anything from that fight? Do you really think Brock will be able to charge like a wild man and catch him by surprise again? No way. He won't even try. I don't see any reasonable scenario in which Brock wins unless he catches Mir with something or Mir becomes gassed. I thought Brock looked like he was wearing down against Randy and I have some questions about his stamina.
