In Hindsight, how would you have booked UFC 100? What does your DREAM 100 look like? For almost a year, there has been the question posed: WHAT WILL UFC 100 look like? Dana has guarenteed 100 would be a pretty spectacular, special card, and really, it's nothing we haven't seen before. So when looking at the bouts and fighters booked around 100 and the possible matchups, how would you have booked UFC 100? Leave it as is, or mix it up? I mean, there are plenty of dream bouts and superfights that were possible and the number 100 could have even been billed as the biggest MMA event/card ever, even maybe airing a free prelim card on Spike and running the PPV longer than usual, with more MAIN CARD bouts???? Personally, I think they did good with two HUGE superfights between Brock/Mir and GSP/Alves, but I think the rest of the card should be a whole lot tighter, for it looks like every other PPV the UFC presents. I'd have preferred this to be the UFC's version of WRESTLEMANIA, and I'd envisioned them going "all out" if you will, putting a tonne of amazing bouts together to make this night the most memorable of all time. I know this sounds ridiculous and so far out there that it'll never, ever happen, but maybe the should have possibly held this card at a larger venue and really bringing the publicity and spotlight to the UFC, by selling something extra special: Undercard/Preliminary Card to be aired Free on SPIKE TV @ 7:30pm Jon Fitch vs. Martin Kampmann Roger Huerta(one fight left) vs. Tyson Griffin Stephan Bonner vs. Mark Coleman Dustin Hazelett vs. Anthony Johnson Rousiar Palhares vs. Patrick Cote(pretend he's healthy by then) MAIN CARD airs at 10 on PPV: Lesnar vs Mir II GSP vs Alves Franklin vs. Wandy(switch with Hendo/Bisping) Nate Marquardt vs. Demian Maia Jon Jones vs. Keith Jardine Diego Sanchez vs. Clay Guida Alan Belcher vs. Yoshihiro Akiyama Basically, the way I see it, I'd love for 100, to be such a supercard, that it's basically two ppvs worth, for the price of won(or maybe a little more, since the fights are so much more stacked than ever before) The prelims on Spike could be considered a THANK YOU to the loyal fans and they could run commercials regarding the evolution and history of the UFC. If this were to be done right, maybe they could've even held this PPV in a stadium with a larger potential attendence. Then, for the HOF, we induct Big John McCarthy and to end the night, after Lesnar/Mir, have Dana finally introduce his newest signing, Fedor Emelianenko! That's about when I wake up from my DREAM of what 100 should be. Thoughts? |
This is mine. I know it is a huge card, but the biggest UFC ever would have to be huge. Maybe it could have two parts on on back-to-back nights? Main Card UFC HW championship Fedor VS Brock - Fedor would win this for sure. UFC MW Championship Anderson Silva VS Georges St. Pierre - Great fight, could go either way. I'll guess GSP UD. UFC LHW Championship Quinton "Rampage" Jackson VS Rashad Evans - Rampage 3rd rd KO. UFC LW Chmpionship BJ Penn VS Kenny Florian - I'd say BJ 2nd rd KO. DANA WHITE VS TITO ORTIZ - Oh yeah, this fight is happning. Tito 1st rd KO. lol. OR DANA WHITE VS GERRY MILLEN! - I GOT DANA KO FIRST RD. Wanderlei Silva VS Chuck Liddell II - Wandy SD. Andrei Arlovski VS Tim Sylvia 4 - Arlovski 2nd rd KO. Randy Couture VS Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira - Close close fight. In their primes Nog would win, but now, I have no clue. Rich Franklin VS Dan Henderson II - Franklin SD. Lyoto Machida VS Mauricio Shogun Rua - If Shogun came in like the old Shogun it would be amazingly close. I'd guess Shogun 1st rd TKO, maybe. UNDERCARD! Forrest Griffin VS Keith Jardine II - Forrest SD. Vitor Belfort VS Thiago Alves - Close close, I think because Alves would have to move up Belfort would have more power and speed and KO Alves in the 1st. Gegard Mousasi VS Robby Lawlor - Mousasi 1st rd sub armbar. Joachim Hansen VS Eddie Alvarez II - Hansen 3rd rd TKO. Close though, tough to call. Nick Diaz VS Gomi II - Diaz would beat the crap out of Gomi again and probably KO him this time, or gogo him like last time. Sergei Kharitonov VS Alistair Overeem - Close. I would take Sergei by KO. Miguel Torres vs. Kid Yamamoto at 140lbs - I don't think Torres is as good as they say. KID is a monster! Kid 1st rd KO. |
Alright my card would be: Matt Hughes vs Kenny Florian Matt Serra vs Sean Sherk Randy Couture vs Frank Mir Shane Carwin vs Brock Lesnar Chuck Liddell vs Lyoto Machida Rashad Evans vs Quinton Jackson Thiago Alves vs GSP Nick Diaz vs Matt Brown Cheick Kongo vs Antoni Hardonk Joe Lauzon vs Cole Miller #2 Wanderlei Silva vs Anderson Silva at any weight they want Chris Lytle vs Anthony Johnson Forrest Griffin vs Matt Hamill Demian Maia vs Yushin Okami A few dozen more fights as well Maybe some midget fights as well as a sideshow The event would go on for 3 days or so. |
