Randy Couture would have no problem taking Bas down and ending this fight in the first round.

This would be an awesome fight, even if they were to fight now, but will (as most other fantasy match ups) will never happen. After all they have opened a gym together.
I like both fighters, and I'd be cheering for Randy. Bas has better striking than Couture, and is an overall more well rounded fighter, and could beat Couture on the feet and probably submit him too. Couture would have to take Bas down and punish him to get a descision or tko victory.

I dont think Randy would have trouble at all takin Bas down, but keepin from gettin Submitted ya.. and Couture's gameplans are always mysteries, he tried to stand with Chuck Liddell, if he tried to stand with Bas who has better stand-up then Chuck his head would get knocked off.. I know he has a great chin, but Bas in his prime can knock anyone out.. he has a 14-1 thai boxing record.. 14 wins by KO, the guy has a full arsenal.. black belt in Tae Kwon Do, Kyokushin, he throws great elbows, fists, and kicks.. hes technically sound, and he has an arsenal of submissions.. theres nothing Bas cant do.
P.S. Guy Mezger had a phenomial fight with Sakuraba that a lot of people thought he won, should we crown him too?

How does your Guy Mezger argument really apply in this situation?Sakuraba is a legend of the sport and deserves a ton of respect ,but he's not really on Nog's level.You made a bad point by bringing up Ricco Rodriguez.I'd take the Ricco that beat Randy over Bas ANYDAY.

seriously? chuck just has more KO power, and didnt fight at HW.
technically, Chuck's standup is horrible.
his entire style is designed for him to throw that KO power, and get a one-shot KO. his jab/looping hook is just lazy as fuck, made to move the opponents head so he can throw power. he's succeptible to leg kicks because he stands wide and flat footed for balaance. he keeps his hands down so he can get them to move close to hit his exposed chin, so he can strike. he has good chin so he can afford to do that, but Randy and Rampage beat the living hell out of him for fighting like that, and he has made changes to his setups and footwork, but uses the same gameplan
Bas was an actual kickboxer, his thai was excellent, his kicks are good, and his boxing was decent. he was also the same size, and doing serious damage to HWs
now Bas did not fight the level of competition that Chuck has, but in no way does he have the same technical level of standup
