i voted Penn
i think Sudo would hang tough for a while. he has solid submission game, and if he could stand a few rounds with Masato, i would say he could stand with BJ.
i think this would be one of the most entertaining fights you could put out there in the LW division.

Probably BJ. Genki is good but BJ will not be subed by him and I think BJ's stand up is a little better. Bj can control the fight and pull off a decisive decision. I'll be pulling for Genki though.

i dont think Penn could submit Sudo, but i also dont think Sudo can do much to Penn to gain a victory. Should be an entertaining fight.

Penn has much better standup and I'd give him an edge on the ground.Penn imo is the best LW fighter in the world.

I'm surprised at the concensus is Penn has far better standup.
A little better maybe. His boxing is certainly very sharp, but Sudo has superior kicks imo...

I'd take Penn by decision or late round victory.

Penn has better standup, and they both have solid ground games. I don't think one could submit the other. I thinki BJ would win by a descision or a late (T)KO.

I know this thread is old, and I'm not digging it up just to dig it up. I was actually going to make this topic, but did a search, and found it.
I am kind of surprised by the Penn being in the lead. B.J. Penn is an amazing fighter, no doubt about it, but I honestly think that Sudo would take it. We'll never see it, obviously, but it would have been a fight for the ages.
