I'll break it down for ya the way I see it tim i expected more discussion under this one. Remember what Brock did against Herring? He straight charged him and football tackled him. This removes Machidas elusiveness from the picture, as Brock could definately do the same to Machida. I am very pro Brock in this matchup because of the size. Brocks a scary ass meat monster who will be too big for Machida. I also don't see Machidas hands being all that effective if the fight stayed standing up. Lyoto throws straight punches, and would have a hard time doing damage to Brock. Brock would control where the fight would go, which is the ground, and would win a decision or 2nd or 3rd round tko.

Noone can really comment much on Brock Lesnar because we havent seen enough of him against opponents utilizing different styles. Example how does Brock handle a good striker like Anderson Silva, Machida or Griffin whom both utilize superb leg kicks. How would Brock handle someone like Mirko. We just dont know yet.

Give Brock some more fights and youll probably get better feedback from MMA fans.

Lesnar has too much power and speed. Machida would keep away for a while and the moment he throws a kick Lesnar would take him down. Then GnP FTW.

Machida is very strong for a lhw, he's not some push over that brock would obliterate. that being said i think machida is VERY fast and VERY elusive, he wouldn't get caught like herring did but i do question whether or not he can get back to his feet without taking too much damage on the way up

I agree with you. People have too many images of Brock being this almost super hero like figure, but from what I saw is that he hits hard and has good hips. Someone earlier said he "football tackled" Herring, but they failed to mention that Herring was dropped a few seconds earlier by a punch that broke his orbital bone. I think its a credit to how tough Herring is that he wasn't stopped in that fight, not how overwhelmingly powerful Lesnar is for dominating him for 15 minutes.

Lesnar had trouble overpowering Couture, I think he won that fight basically because Couture's reflexes are not what they used to be and he got tagged a few times, and Couture was never really known for his excellent striking defense in the first place.

I picked Machida because I like him more, but I think it boils down to Machida keeping Lesnar from clinching and keeping him guessing. I think the advantage that Machida has in skill, talent, and speed is just as big as the advantage Lesnar has in size and strength. Would be a good David vs Goliath type fight, I would pay to see it.
