This was the first fight I thought of when Shields beat Lawler. Too bad it will never happen.

Diaz by 3rd round TKO. Shields can't hurt Diaz standing or on the ground. I see Diaz having better ground submission/sub defense skills.

I would go Diaz also but i would actually say by sub they are both very good on the ground but i think diaz striking is just so much better than Shields that in a attempt to get diaz down shields will leave himself open for one of the slick subs diaz can put on people

i highly doubt diaz would sub shields... i'd give the striking to diaz and the wrestling and jits to jake. i dont think jake would sub diaz, but i could see it going like nicks past fights against better wrestlers.

You'd give wrestling AND jits to Jake??? I'd give the wrestling to Jake, but jits to Diaz.

Diaz is the better fighter, standing or on the ground. But Shields has the wrestling advantage. If it stays standing Diaz, on the ground Shields. No TKO/Subs tho only decisions.

I agree. I'd say Diaz 2nd rd TKO.
