Default George Sotiropoulos vs. B.J. Penn in a BJJ match

Whoes got it.

George S has the best guard passing I have ever seen and he did it aginst Joe Daddy ( who is a blackbelt)

George is amazing on the ground but BJ is better...

I have to say GSP's guard passing on BJ was awesome (I understand the weight made a difference but technique was on point)

Plus it helps if you have vaseline on your shoulders

BJ taps George.

I think people just forget how good Penn is on the ground because of his elite striking. Penn's BJJ >>>> Penn's striking. If Penn decided to actually wrestle guys down to the mat and grapple with them, he would win just about every fight via submission in the first round. Just look what he did with Hughes and Florian in their fights. Hughes looked unstoppable and Penn made him look like a fool on the ground. Florian was coming off a first round sub victory over Stevenson and the second he got on the ground with Penn he looked clueless.

Penn wins this every time. George is good on the ground, but Penn is on a whole other level.

Yeah when Penn wants you down, you go down. He took Kenny down, and tapped him soon there after. And kenny is a legit BJJ BB

i'm actually a bit shocked by this. BJ is a legit world class BJJ practitioner, GSP's grappling ability is aided by his striking. He's one hell of an athlete but there's no way he could hang with Penn in an actual BJJ match.

A few more fights for George and he'll be a good match for BJ. He realy impressed me over Joe Daddy. Not saying George would win but it should be a technical fun fight to watch.

I would give BJ a big advantage in straight BJJ, but in simple ground game, this would not be a blowout. GS has some very subtle tricks (leverage and joint manipulation) that seem to come naturally to him in tight situations, and I really don't think BJ would walk through him on the feet or on the ground. I think he would give BJ quite a bit of trouble.
