Brett Rogers or JDS - Who would win?

dos Santos would get my vote. He's shown just as much power with more technical stand up; training with Big Nog suggests he would have a decent ground game, though we haven't witnessed it yet.

From what I have seen from both of them, I think JDS would win.

Id have to go with JDS as well, but i would love to see rogers in the UFC. He impressed me in the fedor fight, and we know he has power and he is always improving his game. He hasnt been in mma for long and would be a good addition to the UFC and if he dedicates himself he could make a good championship run.

There's a pretty big difference in quality of striking and technique between the two and while Rogers is a big, beastly HW who can lumber and bully fighters with his girth and power, Cigano's a big, beastly HW with crisp timing, footwork and well defined boxing who can time a foe's stiking precisely and obliterate them completely with his power. In comparison between the two, I think that Rogers is easily outclassed because Cigano's just got such insight and technique and training to ruin most opponents and Rogers is too much of a brawler. Rogers needs to define his style much better before he gets into a striking battle with somebody with JDS's pedigree....

Rogers is the sorta guy that should b fighting people like kimbo. He's a brawler not a mixed martial artist.

While you could describe Rogers as a brawler, i would not go as far to say he is not a mixed martial artist. He has been training in all aspects of mma. He is a striker and you see his standup, which always seems to be improving, but he also trains wrestling and bjj. He is trying to get his game better. Just think of how fast fedor has submitted others as soon at it hit the mat, rogers wasnt a fish out of water and he impressed a lot of people. this fight with jds would not be a good fight for him. JDS is far more skilled standing, counters well, always seems to find an opening, and is very fast on top of hitting very hard. But who in the HW devision can really stand with JDS anyways. Remains to be seen but i dont think anybody in the UFC can stand with him (yes, carwin has power) Fedor, possibly overeem? its not just JDS skill, but he is very explosive, fast, accurate and hits hard. Look at what he did to cc and yvel, 2 accomplished kickboxers.

He has been training mma for over 6 years. Has shown that he has talent and determination and ever improving skills in all aspects of mma. He is not comparable to kimbo. He is faster, stronger, hits harder and faster than kimbo. Why should he be fighting kimbo? Have u actually seen any of his fights? all 10 victories have come in the first round or early 2nd (only 2 second round) He has a win over aa. had a very compelling fight with fedor and while aside from that he hasnt fought as many tough fights like top hw's in the ufc, he has dominated all of his opponents showing great skill and talent. He will fight in the UFC some day and potentially could be a top contender. His fight with overeem will anwser a lot of questions as well. Why do u not consiter him a martial artist, or are you just saying that to be cute b/c of what gsp said?!?

I probably shouldnt be responding to this. Are you saying that it is impossible for Rogers to be a martial artist? He clearly has skill, talent and athletic ability that any fighter would want, and dedication to improve himself and become something. Comparing your dumbass self trying to do something impossible to a talented skilled rogers becoming a martial artist is one of the dumbest things iv heard on mma forums and that is saying a lot.


I dont think he is on the level with a jds, but his striking is more advanced than carwins or lesnars, he has proven that he has power and speed as well. He is similar to jds in that regard and will be a top contender some day IMHO.
