Seeing how easily Overeem tossed Rogers around, I think Carwin won't be too far off if he cares to clinch and Overeem will take a much more subdued and pinpoint approach and just legkick Carwin's shot into oblivion. Carwin isn't refined enough in any avenue and I see him getting guillotined. | Carwin is too smart and have too much power for this "steroid boy" , we could argue all day long but its my opinion that Carwin would beat his ass easily...

Personally, I think Overeem's power and technical striking will keep Carwin at bey with BRUTAL legkicks and distance too long and eventually Overeem will rock him and sink in the guillotine. I don't think I've ever seen somebody toss a man Rogers' size with the ease Overeem did last night and that scared me a little. Carwin's a big, powerful fighter, but I think Overeem's striking is on another planet and Carwin'll be hardpressed to secure a shot without eating something really grizzly on the way in. | Quote:

Granted Overeem hasn't fought that many great opponents lately in MMA, but he has competed against some of the best strikers in the world in the K-1 tourneys and he does have a decent ground game and a sick guillotine.
Carwin is very intelligent and has a lot of power, but intelligence only does so much against a guy that has just as much power as you and better all around technique. This coming from a guy who is on the Carwin bandwagon. I just don't think he can handle somebody with the striking and strength Overeem has, at this point in his career. I do think he does have a good bit more than just a puncher's chance though.

I give it to Carwin in this case because of his wrestling back ground you can insert velasquez here as well as carwin i don't see overeem being able to knock either guy out before they can clinch against the fence and work dirty boxing or single leg take down and gnp. I would love to see these fights though it would be a great striker vs wrestler to see which style comes out on top

Well
Considering both strengths of each fighter its kind of a toss up.
Overeem is one of my favorite fighters but so is carwin.
Carwin is extremely strong.
Striking is ok he has knock out power we have all seen that.
His wrestling is what he would really have to utilize.Gnp would have to be his main weapon against overeem.
Overeem has very high level striking and is more or less a well rounded fighter.
Carwin is a big guy but overeem is huge to especially compared to how we was say when he fought chuck back in pride.
This one is a toss up for me and i cant really decide.
Overeem by ko round three
or
Carwin by tko round 2
Those are my two possible and most likely out comes in my opinion for this dream fight that i hope to see in the future after the eventual fold of crap strikeforce

Carwin would just get close and somehow smash Overeem IMHO..Overeem would pose a serious threat at distance with kicks and his knees are deadly of course but Carwin just looks so robust I cant see him letting Overeem dictate the pace with his striking.

Gotta give it to Overeem since he's the better striker and probably wouldn't get taken down.
