This is pretty funny...people calling for Sonnen, who hasn't TKO'd anyone in what--3 years?--to TKO Shields, who hasn't been TKO'd in something like 7.

Neither of these guys have crushing Ground and Pound. Striking, as a whole would be a non-issue here.

What it comes down to for me are advantages: Sonnen has great takedowns, and I give him the nod there, but what is he going to do once the fight hits the ground?

Jake's submission game is outstanding, he's lightyears ahead of Sonnen. He's also got a fantastic control game--I will guarantee you we'll see Chael on his back--that Sonnen has yet to face.

I'm going with Jake winning 8 out of 10 fights. I don't see him getting the submission more than 3 or 4 times, but I think he wins a lot of decisions that have the stand-and-bang crowd demanding refunds.

Shields would submit Sonnen soon as he makes a mistake. People should look into some fighters records a little more instead of basing everything on a fighters last fight, Sonnen is nothing great.

Sonnen is bigger and has better standup. I doubt the standup difference is enough to tko or ko Shields though. Their wrestling is probably too close to give the edge to as well. I'd go with Sonnen but UD as long as he can avoid Submissions. Also, interesting to note is that in the UFC Fight club Q&A Sonnen made it clear that he had a lot of respect for Shields but he feels that he's a WW.
