this would be a great fight, and much more likely than fedor vs. jones(fedor might not ever fight in the ufc and probably wouldnt fight jones even if he did) after jones fights very successfully for years at lhw he will eventually go to hw, and we could see fights like jones vs. cain, jds, lesnar, overeem, or whoever makes themselves a top hw at that point. Jones reach and athleticism is daunting for any lhw fighter to face.

The hw's will still have to deal with jones' reach and size but the gap will be a lot closer and a lot of them will be much stronger. I wonder if jones could throw them around. also imagine jones vs. overeem, he would only have 1 1/2 inch reach over overeem and allistar is used to fighting taller guys with big reach in k1. That would be great to see, but how would he handle jones' wrestling.

This fight wouldn't be that good. Cain is bigger, stronger, faster, hits hard and is a better wrestler then Jones. Yes Jones might have a reach advantage but Cain has already fought two guys with big reaches (Kongo and Lesnar).

Jones is great and he has been impressive in dominating lots of LHW fights. But Cain is not a LHW, he is a big badass HW. And not just anyone badass HW, he is the best in the world. Cain would win this fight in less then 3 mins.

Cain and Jones might match up but Overeem is a horrible matchup for him. Not to say Overeem is better than cain.

How does he match up well with Cain? Cain is bigger and better at everything. Jones looks huge standing next to Shogun, but would look small next to Cain who would outweigh him somewhere between 20-30 pounds.

Cain would manhandle Jones and it would not be pretty. If he could toss around guys the size of Rothwell and Lesnar imagine what he can do with a guy as small as Jones.

yes but bader, hammil, vlad, etc had better wrestling then jones and he took them down with ease. fitch, koscheck and hughes had better wrestling than gsp and he took them down with ease. Mma wrestling and takedows are different and not sure cain, would be the fight that you would say "hes too big and strong for jones" compared to the other hw's. and shogun fought guys like overeem and diabate that had long reaches, but jones is a very different fighter, uses his reach differently and goes for takedowns. That would be a great fight and overeem would be more likely to make jones stand with him than other fighters because he can land his shots by barley getting into jones' range and look at what he can do with his hands, kicks, and knees. jones could get KTFO

Cain is just to big and too strong. Simple as that. If Jones chose to go on the Overeen weight gain program, than he would most definitely be a problem for any HW but he would be an extremely small HW bulk wise.

This is not even a fair dream match IMO.

cains wrestling is very good and jones would have to worry about getting taken down more than any of his past fights, cain is stronger. Not sure how cain would deal with jones takedowns, but cain's striking is far ahead of jones. I wish this fight was happening now.

It's not only that Cain is a better wrestler then Jones, it's also that he is a lot bigger. If they were the exact same size I would say this would be a hell of a fight and it would go down to the wire. But they are not the same size and Cain is a lot bigger.

Plus we have seen what happens when Cain gets takendown, he gets right back up. Lesnar took him down twice and Cain spent a total of 10 seconds on the mat and took no damage. We do not know what will happen when Jones gets takendown. Will he pop right back up or will he be a fish out of water? Cain would be the last guy Jones wants to find this out about against. Because when Cain takes people down he pummels them into submission in very violent ways.

Ryan Bader looked bigger than Cain in several pictures together. Jon Jones is a huge LHW that cuts alot of weight and he's said that he can get to about 240 and JJ dwarfed Ryan Bader in that last fight. So obviously size isn't that big of a deal considering 240 is about Cains weight and Cain isn't anywhere close to being solid at that weight.. So he matches up well in that aspect with Cain. With Allistair it's differen't. I don't see him suplexing fucking horse meat 260+ pound Overeem on his back and he sure as hell isn't going to outstrike the k1 champ standing up so yeah stylistically it would be a major difference in JJ fighting Cain or Overeem.
