Arlovski can take him down and outrstrike him, ill go with AA by either submission or KO

The problem I see is AA being able to take down chuck considering Chuck's takedown defense and AA"s glass chin. If Tim Sylvia can knock AA on his ass more than once then I can see Chuck doing it. Then again AA has better boxing than Chuck though so it'd be interesting to see how it plays out.

I dont think Chuck can defend Sambo.

While it would be very interesting to watch, and who knows maybe someday before he retires Chucky will move up to HW, but, I have to go with my gut on this one and say AA is the favorite.

Both have absolutely devistating power. I really don't see AA trying to take Chuck down, or vise versa, so takedowns, and takedown defense is almost irrelevant. AA's chin is underated. The 2nd fight with Tim was a fluke, he got caught on the chin, while off balance, and went down breifly, he wasn't really out of it until Tim pounced and followed up. Even then, he jumped right up. The second fight, he took repeated hard shots on the chin from Silvia, and while he did get stunned, Tim never really had him in serious danger, as he recovered quickly. Say what you want about Tim (I say he sucks) he does have KO power, and AA took repeated shots on the button.

Chuck we all know has an iron chin. However he has never been hit by someone like AA. AA is faster, and has better footwork, and overall better technique.

AA by KO, but if they fought multiple times, I am sure Chuck would win his share of KOs as well.

i dont konw about this fight going down to the ground, because i dont know how good AA's upper body takedowns are, although his sambo background is good.

and Chuck throws heavyweight power and has a HW chin, and we know what happens to AA when you catch him clean with a big shot

but AA hits like a fucking mack truck. i'll bet that his overhand right is harder then Chuck's any day of the week, and his movement will outmaneuver any work done by Chuck's angling and footwork, and he can catch him with speed, something Chuck doesn't throw a lot of

Well, I saw the Rizzo fight recently, and Arlovski was completely OUT from one clean shot. He wasn't even doing badly until it landed, but after that it was over. And while I agree that the second Sylvia fight was a fluke (in fact, AA was owning Sylvia as easily as last time up until he got in that lucky punch), he was still badly stunned by one shot. I could see Chuck getting in one good shot for a stun, then following with a KO flurry. However, most of the time I don't think that would happen, just because Arlovski has similar power coupled with much greater speed and technique. He should be able to outstrike Chuck like Rampage and Couture, except that he has real knockout power behind his shots.

aa by ko, yes chuck has a punchers chance but aa is everything chuck is but alot better, besides the chin but i still think aa chin isnt that bad, but he hits harder and is faster then chuck and will put chuck down

Close, but I think Chuck's chin is better and that'd give him a slight edge, but I could see Arlovski winning too.

It depends on how AA fights. If he fights the way he did against Sylvia, Chuck for sure.

the only reason he fought like shit against Sylvia was a torn ACL in the middle of the 2nd round


but i would agree that Chuck probably has a better chin, its just that AA's overhand right is probably one of the single most powerful punches in MMA
