| prime alexander karelin vs. fedor
Does anyone remember watching this guy in his prime. He was just a huge ripped 280 at 6'3". I think he would have taken to MMA well.
I don't think anyone now can, but I think with lettle training he would have just overpowered Fedor.
If you don't remember him, do some searches. http://www.answers.com/topic/alexander-karelin
The only wrestling match he lost was where the guy scored one point and then avoided him.

Fedor via TKO

The real point was to say 'what if he had been able to get into MMA?'. I am a big MMA fan, and this guy never really fell into the 'wrestling' category. He was a freak and I am guessing you never saw him. I can respect someone who can acknowledge raw talent and still say 'Fedor by TKO', but blind replies doesn't help anyone think.

fedor would take this easily because he'd be to smart to even waste his time trying to take out a guy who weighs about 280. fedor would stay on the feet using speed to keep away and then eventually catch him. if he can outstrike crocop for a whole fight then i think outstriking and knocking out karelin wouldn't really be a problem

He would have to train in stand up and sub and I don't think he would be nearly as good as Fedor in that. My point is it takes a lot more than wrestling to beat a 3 time Sambo Champion and Bronze Medalist in Judo, and Technically undefeated Pride Champion and P4P best fighter in the world.

| Karelin vs Fedor
Karelin is the best wrestler of all times already. With a proper training He could have been the greatest hand to hand combat fighter without weapons of all times.
From MMA point of view Karelin's technique is limited compared that of Fedor and If they fight with MMA rules Fedor would win (arm bar or punches or choke).
If Karelin had 1 year MMA training and was 15 years younger than He would be the victor.

katelin did have one mma match i think... and he used the karelin lift as an offensive move.
if karelin had become a fighter, he would have been a maxed-out heavyweight version of dan henderson. scary stuff.
