Snowman, you are sadly mistaken if you think Marciano wins against Ali. He'd give Ali a tough fight, no doubt, but in the end, the fight ends with Ali winning a clear, but hard fought decision.
A lot of people give too much credence to Rocky's undefeated record, and while it is certainly a great feat, the level of competition Marciano faced was nowhere near to what Ali faced in both phases of his career. The toughest guys Marciano fought were a badly faded Joe Louis, Ezzard Charles (an underrated heavyweight champion), a nearly 40-year old Jersey Joe Walcott, and a for certain 40-year old Archie Moore, celebrated a career as he had up to that point. Compare that to Ali: Joe Frazier, a prime George Foreman, Ken Norton, Floyd Patterson, Sonny Liston, and Bob Foster are all HOF-ers, and even the contenders he fought are all recognizable: Henry Cooper, Jerry Quarry, Karl Mildenburger, Zora Folley, George Chuvalo, Oscar Bonavena, Ernie Terrell, Cleveland Williams, Jimmy Ellis, Ron Lyle, and Earnie Shavers were the some of the toughest guys around, none of them considered chumps when Ali fought them. And that's not even to count his loss to Larry Holmes, past his prime as he was.
No, Ali was really the perfect heavyweight in most people's opinion, and is always on anyone's top 3 p4p of all time with Joe Louis and Sugar Ray Robinson. Marciano is one of the greatest of all-time, no question, but at no point would he ever beat Ali, regardless of how the computer and that Superfight documentary says.
