I got hit with a clean left hook to the liver sparring once. I didn't go down but I needed to take a break for like a minute or so. It's a horrible feeling, and if a guy has real power it's devastating.
Agree. Body shots, especially to the liver can be horrible.

having more stronger and bigger abdominal muscles can only help lessen the blow, but a good shot will always hurt... but you got to condition yourself for them.

If your abdominals are not contracted then you are gonna crumple. If they are you have a chance of absorbing a blow.

Statistically fighters are way more likely to be finished after being dropped by a body shot then a head shot.

As far as the most painful strikes go, the last time I cried was after basketball practice in grade 7. My buddy blindsided me with a north to south elbow straight to the spine. That shit fucking hurts.

I think it's a great way your opponet can do nothing but look at you as you truly can pick the way you want to finish them. They don't have to watch films to see how they lost they now have it ingrained into there mind in slow motion of you finishing them. So if you dislike your opponet it can be a very sweet win.
Yes a KO may have more long term effects but a very rememberable way to win or lose.

One of the worst feelings I have ever had in my life was being hit in the liver not saying painful but just a shitty experience.

A friend and I were exchanging body shots when we a good few years back and we started light and gradually got harder...The whole purpose of what we were doing was to try to immune our bodies to body shots...Anyhow when we were still in pretty much light power stage i got hit with a liver shot it felt like all the blood in my body rushed to my head i staggerd and stumbled forward face first...I couldnt find the energy to get back on my feet for a good 30 seconds anyways it fuckin sucked I tell you.

In my life 2 of the most devestating blows I have ever been hit with were light punches while playing around..

    Agree...

It should be a great rematch if/when it happens... I just dont see Bendo being able to hang with Pettis standing...

If he actually uses a better wrestling gameplan, he may be able to be more successful.
