i doubt Karo can submit Hughes...but you'll never know, BJ Penn did...

if it ever does happen, it will be an amazing fight.

I'd have to go with Hughes. I think his strength would be the deciding factor and, as Afro Samurai said, it would be a long hard fight.

    Later.

besides yoshida, i'm impressed with karo's judo takedown skills.

but matt will destroy him, then BJ will come back and take matt's belt. and reign as champion. then go home to kona and eat a zip pac or meat jun plate lunch

no matter the outcome it would be an exciting fight.that's what i like about karo he's exciting and his judo is amazing to watch. This is a very intriguing matchup and I'd agree Karo deserves the title shot he was next in line till he got hurt.he's healthy now and in my mind is number one contender.

Karo has improved and for on thing his style would be to much for Hughes . Matt has trouble with fighters that are not wrestlers . Look when he fought BJ . GSP was rite on with Matt , but he gave up to soon. Karo should be the number one contender. not GSP he allready had his shot.

yea he did lose to Sherk twice, but that was in 00' and 01'. he's gotten a whole lot better since then.

i also don't think he can defeat matt hughes, but hopefully im wrong. i rather see karo with the belt than hughes.

Well Karo got beat by Sherk for one and by GSP. So i mean anyone stands a chance but i wouldnt really think he would win.. personnally..

i'll take karo's judo over hughes wrestling anyday.karo's judo is beautiful to watch.poetry in motion.karo is my favorite fighter and i was thinking he was going to beat hughes.he definately would've put up a better showing than riggs.

Karo has a very good chance of defeating Hughes, or GSP even if they ever rematch. He has one of the slickest ground games in the WW division, very durable, great cardio, a good chin, and he's fearless. He's always looking to bring the fight to definite end, and even if it does go to decision, you typically know it was Karo domination. We simply just don't know how he can do against the elite three of the division, but he's beaten enough quality, top 10 opponents to justify his popularly held #4 spot. A win over Diego, another legit top 10 guy in my mind only solidifies his spot, and all that would be left for him would be a fight against either Penn, Hughes, or St. Pierre. The winner of a Karo/BJ fight should get the winner of the GSP/Hughes rematch.
