I'm not saying it is right at all...but avoiding anyone who poses a possible threat to your fighter you can...and trying to pick the best fights you possibly can get...is what a fighter's management team is paid to do.

It's their job to help their fighter rise without injuries and losses, eventually get the belt, and keep it as long as he possibly can.

That way the revenues from TV appearances, movie deals, merchandising, gate reciepts, etc. are much higher...and everyone makes more money.

It's an unfortunate part of the businees...but maybe when the ufc starts paying fighters way better...we will start to see a lot less guys like Tito.

When he was on the rise and when he was holding the belt...the ufc wasn't paying all that great...so he played like hell to the fans and hyped himself to death to help bring in the cash as best he could.

He and his management team just did what they had to do to make him famous and to make enough money to help provide for a secure future for him, his team, his employees, and his wife and kids.

I personally feel IMHO...he came back to the ufc and took the job as coach on TUF 3 partly to show that he really cared about the sport and to give a little back.

Plus the money and publicity is good, he gets to spar with Dana, and he gets another chance to beat up Ken...lol

But he's not stupid..he knows his days at the top are numbered and he's not as young or as healthy as he used to be....and that this is probably going to be his last short run before he has to retire.

isnt that what Ken is used for these days? he fought Franklin to up Franklins career and to bring in more new UFC fans, mainly WWE fans that seen him wrestle.
