I think rampage was out several minutes before the slam happened. He recovered, the fight went on, then later that round the slam happened. I'm leavig it up to you to find out if I'm right or not, but that might help.

GSP is an excellent fighter, a straight up dude, and hell he might very well be a Canadian Super Soldier! He's certain to go down as one of the all time greatest MMA fighters and more specifically WW champions to ever step in the cage. He isn't the GOAT tho, that's Fedor. I don't understand how anyone could possibly see it any other way.

yeah, I'm the one who needs to watch that fight again.

I'm not saying it wasn't a crazy highlight reel. I'm saying the ref was either crooked or criminally incompetent.

Then he'd point out that the slam wasn't what KO'd him, it was the inadvertent head butt at the end of it, and show you the teeth marks to prove it.

People are riding the GSP bandwagon now, but if he gets stopped by Kos, his achievements will look pretty miniscule when compared to what Wanderlei+Anderson Silva, Chuck Liddell, and Fedor have done in their prime.
Miniscule. SO Wandy's run was great but there was no drug testing in pride back then..Wandy had veins on top of veins and zits the size of golf balls on him..let's not mention his aggresiveness. He was roiding in my eyes. A silva has face many decent fighters and many many cans. Liddell....did Fantastic agaisnt wrestlers...He was NEVER good at fighting strikers...and it reared it's ugly head when he had to. Fedor has accomplished the most out of all of them. But you can't ignore the fact that his record has the most cans EVER!

I'm canadian so my opinion here will probably be overlooked. GSP is fighting the new breed of fighters and winning. The Wandy of old kept fighting the same guys over and over. Same with Fedor...Nog three times...Lindland?..and I don't want to get into the travelling circuss guys he has fought. A Silva doesn't give rematched and that is a weakness! (Rich franklin..the only one..Kinda like Liddell fighting tito over and over and over)
What I'm trying to say is that when Fedor ws fighting the only good heavywights were Nog and Mirco. A Silva's division is WEAK..Wandy was roiding and beating up smaller fighters. GSP Is fighter guys with amazing training camps..conditioning...the new breed. To dominate the new breed of fighters is something amazing.

My P4P/GOAT list of entries: these are not in any particular order but After each of these guys fight again it will be clearer.

    Gsp
    Fedor (dependant of next fight)
A silva-WEAKEST division ever. please Cote...Leites...Maia..leben..lutter..james irvin?...the list is pathetic fro a man considered the best!
    Bj-slipping
Aldo-needs a fight at 155 to gage him
    Edgar (Dependant of next fight)
    Cain V-(dependant of next fight)

Let me say this; I hope no one neg'ed the guy for writing this, because although I don't agree, he wrote a well thought out thread. Yeah he's swinging from GSP's balls , but that's all good.

GSP can NOT be the GOAT. Is he the best WW right now. Hell Yeah! But the GOAT? Give it some time, and this pipe dream may become reality. And you can tell all of the doubters to suck it. But not yet.
But who do you call the greatest of all time then if all the greats are still fighting? Royce Gracie? Keith Hackney? Kimo? Scott Ferozzo? Personally I think Fedor is but.....he is still fighting too.
